More than meets the eye
Fun with and bit of a bite if you end in the rough, each hole gave you a little then took it back. Fun to play!
Loved the coarse and greens
This a very nice coarse for the money. The large greens are nice. Beautiful surroundings
Wisconsin cheese
Nothing cheesy about this course, all skill levels and roughs that swallow your ball so hit the ball straight and long, fun and challenging
Fun course with big fairways
This was our first time playing this course and it was in great shape. It looks easier than it really is. Seems very open and you wouldn't think it would be very hard but it will punish you if you make a mistake. Actually I got somewhat frustrated at one point and may have broken my wedge. The greens were usually huge and fast. I didn't shoot very well but still had a good time. Would come back for sure.
This course is widespread of open field.
I like the price n the layout of the field. Very open n give a good look of the field.
great challanging course..
this is a great giant spacious long beautiful challenging course.
all greens are like football field big... but they are very challenging ..it is not just flat green. it s like a pro pga green..u need to read green. this is the course where u will learn and improve ur golf ...
deal is just unbelievable...
watch the weather
Fairly open, on a windy day would really be a challange. exelent greens for this time of year.
pick your tee
I've played this course multiple times this year & have always found it a challenge to post a good score (my idea of fun)...the rough around the greens is lush & thick, & the greens themselves are huge & have a lot of movement...I can hit more greens in reg. from the blues than the black tees but that doesn't necessarily translate into a much better score because the greens are so sporty...it's easy to drop shots whether you're chipping or lagging from distance...it's pretty wide-open with plenty of room to swing away off the tee...it's always been wind-swept when I've played & that adds to the exhilaration...I agree with a previous poster that there a lot of unrepaired ball marks, but cutting the greens higher would only make those marks deeper...keep 'em low 'n fast!... if anything dry them out to firm them up!!...in the meantime, fix every ballmark you can find when you take on Pheasant Hills
Very windy day made the course more difficult.
Very good shape...fast greens....few people. Had a great time!
Really nice course
The pro-shop, if you can even call it that, was a converted barn-type building but the staff was really friendly and the course looked great! Just a heads-up though, even though GolfNow books tee times before 7am, they don't really open until 7. $20 for 18 w/ cart at this course is a steal.
Nice course but...
I liked the layout and the links golf feel.
However the tee boxes are beat up, many of the fairways resemble other courses first cut of rough and worst of all were the greens. I lived in western Wisconsin for a few years and have played almost every course in the pierce and Polk county area. They cut the greens too short for a clientele that refuses to repair pitch marks. It is ridiculous to have greens that are hard and fast but don't roll true. Stop cutting the greens so short, it doesn't work unless the golfers and the staff together work work to maintain them. I liked the course and I will play it again but I felt the need to comment on the greens. This course is not alone on this issue, this is a western Wisconsin issue. FIX YOUR PITCH MARK!
The course was in great shape. looks like they took the time & money in this dry season to keep it up

Best affordable course in Western WI
Fun layout, a few challenges but mostly quite playable. Staff is great, including the grounds crew who do a remarkable job with what must be a low budget given the low greens fees. Greens are always smooth and quick. We've played multiple courses in Western WI and Pheasant Hills is top notch and very affordable.
Great shape, worth the travel to get there, 45 mins to 1hr
Course in great shape, needed beverage cart, hot day. No water.
There isn't a better value in the greater Twin Cities area
The course was a good challenge and in great shape...the pace of play was terrific and the cost was very reasonable
. Just wish it was a few miles closer to home
Very affordable and fun.
Course is a little out of the way but a pleasant surprise. Many fun holes even with the wind blowing as high as 20 mph. Will play again but with plenty of water in the cart. NO drinking water on the course.
Great course in great shape.
There has not been rain in this part of wisconsin for over a month now, and the course is lush and green. Thick rough to penalize errant shots, and the fairways are mowed nice and tight. Greens were rolling very nicely with minimal damage and brown spots. Great place to golf and an incredible value at $20 a person.
The course is well maintained the fairways are excellent and the greens are kept in good shape. Plays about 6200 yds plus from the whites.
I'm glad I came across this course several years ago because it is well maintained and the owner Ron is a very nice guy who has always treated us well. The course is about 6200+ yards from the white tee boxes which means you can use almost every club in your bag. The only thing I would wish for is just a better selection of food to eat rather than the brats and hot dogs they have along with a selection of chips and candy, so bring a lunch of your own if you don't like this kind of food and snacks. Try this course if you haven't played it yet regardless of the drive time.
The course was in great shape!
I have played at this course regularly for the past couple of years. The condition has always been great, but with the Golf Now deals, it is such a good deal!
Great golf course
Pheasant Hills is a well maintained course and set up for everyone from the beginner to the veteran. Everything is cut very well and the greens are a medium speed.
