PRETTY COURSE
Course was in really good shape, price the highest we paid on our trip. Ocean views nice, not busy. Don't understand why is so expensive when no one is on the course. GpS on cart, cart person had lots of food options and drinks best cart yet on a course ! Green were ok, fairways green not dried out like Waikola golf course
Mauna Kea Strutting its Stuff!
One of the top courses to be played anywhere. The greens had been verticut and sanded the same morning we played but they were still rolling really nice. The rest of the course was beautiful as always. The discounted rate on GolfNow left us with extra money to spend in one of the best pro shops anywhere. The staff is super friendly, the pace of play was 4 hours, and the weather was perfect on the Big Island once again.
Perfect conditions
Course was in top shape, greens were perfect and rolled true, not super fast greens but very puttable
Will definitely play again and will bring friends with
Great location and layout with lots of ocean views.
Gorgeous location and layout with zero bunker maintenance and very slow greens. For $250 I at least expect bunkers to be raked and maintained and greens rolling at about 7-8 on the stimp meter is not what I expected either.
gond care
Japanere stuff took care of us,cause by we played fast.
Spectacular Mauna Kea
Played north and south course at Mauna Lani in the same week and loved them. For the avid golfers this is a true test of golf. The various tees and generally generous fairways made it very playable for my wife too. She is a more than decent golfer with 18 handicap. She much preferred this over the Mauna Lani courses. Greens well guarded and bunkers are definitely a hazard so best to avoid. It is indeed a must play. The scenery at Mauna Lani is awesome but the combination of scenery, great hole designs and true golfing test made Mauna Kea our favourite.
standing the test of time
I played Mauna Kea over 50 years ago and have played quite a few of high level golf courses. I believe this golf course stands the test of time and goes to show you what a wonderful track this is. Loved it.
weather
picked a really bad day to golf- 40 mph winds, rain starting on 8 th hole.
Was able to get a rain check for back rain.
incredible views on many of the holes that I was actually able to play.
not busy- presumably due to weather, maybe high price.
Probably won’t spend this kind of money again but did like the course.
