The tee shot on #6 requires a rather strong forced carry Photo submitted by Tom on 12/04/2017
This was the first time that I have played this course. I will be back. Staff was extremely friendly. The coins in excellent condition. Par 3s are long. It was a little bit of a drive for me, but worth it. I will be back. I highly recommend. Great little gem.
Looks like some issues developing on the greens...many more blems on what were very nice greens 2 weeks ago.
Thank you for playing and taking time to also review Ventura Country Club! The blemishes are result of eradicating a few invasive grasses from our greens. The greens are responding very well and the small treated spots seen last week will be much improved by weeks end. We strive to keep our course in top condition and to keep our players coming back!
two rain bands, that was it, course was in great shape, staff were great, and the food was great,
shorter.........but full of trouble, an excellent example of PENAL Bermuda rough.
Best Value in Orlando
This course has been a locals favorite for a while and now it's mine.
For $26 or so you can have fairways in great share, greens that may not be perfect but roll nicely, and have a few challenges but a ton of fun.
The front 9 plays quick. There are drivable par 4s but some slight turns left or right will put you in trouble. Play smart.
The back 9 takes a little longer with 3 par 3s on back. 11 is long and open with a slopey green. 12 and 13 are short par 3s, hit the greens and you're good. 14 is my least favorite hole on the course because I've put at least a dozen balls into the woods hugging the right and hiding the 190yd green.
17 and 18 are fun finishes where 18 is also a drivable green but it's tucked nicely around some water, a couple of strategic trees and a few bunkers.
I love this place and during the summer is $20 after 2pm all you can play AND a play 5 get 1 free card?! Unbeatable in town.
Fantastic course for the average weekend golfer looking to improve the game. Fairways are well maintained and apart from a few spots here are there on the greens due to aeration, the greens are really good as well.
Pace of play very slow for a 3 some. A twosome of teenage guys refused to let us play through even though 2 holes open in front. Finally had to call golfshop and to their credit did send out a ranger and pace improved.
Nice course, short but fun.
Course is in good shape, greens are a little slow, fairways are green . Hot day played in 3hrs, fun to play some interesting shots.
Ventura is always my first choice in Central Florida.
Once a month
We play here about once a month, well maintained course, but today the greens were a bit shaggy and slow. Not a hard course it’s pretty wide open, but there is a good bit of water.
Great track with gpod conditions
Overall i really enjoyed the round. Ventura golf course was great condition. Even though cart path only due to excessive rain. Pace of play was great. The staff, in the pro shop was friendly. There was one gentleman with gray hair and glasses near the carts I assume it was the starter. Was very rude and made a very insensitive comment about the golf course does not appreciate that i was single, and made it clear that i had no course knowledge of pace of play. And made sure to let me know dont hold up a fouresome. or the next group behind me. Outrageous thinking. As a African-American golfer and these uncertain times. I really felt as if "they dont want us out here".i eventually caught a single golfer who is white. And asked the golfer if he experienced these things and he replied, "no". The same person who so rude had an opportunity to pair me with the 12:20 2some. Yet he chose to say what he said. The course was great, ball position is everything and it was great day. I just hope, we as Americans will stop what is happening and look past the extra melanin in skin and take the character and actions of the individual human being. I will be calling the pro shop to speak to someone about this matter as well.
