Excellent condition, Nice layout, short course but water, sand and a little tight make this a challenge.. play was a little slow, but finished in a little over four hours.
Ventura is a shorter course but challenging. You could either play conservative with an iron or take a chance and bomb it down the fairway. Plenty of trouble and nice greens. Starters and club house staff always friendly.
Would not play here again
If this was a meal, I would rate it bland.
19th hole was nice, staff was friendly & shrimp tacos were excellent!
worth the drive
course in great condition. crowded but played at a decent pace. will play again soon.
Not easy when playing the first time
Playing from blue tees it was not easy to find the next hole several times. The GPS data should be updated after recent changes on the course (hole #17 became hole #1, etc.).
Ventura CC Golf
The greens were not in the best shape. Most greens were dead and the tee box as well. The course is a good course, have played there over 5 times and usually in good condition. Pace wasn't bad, but it took longer due to the amount of people playing.
Good value for $
Played Ventura today, had lots of fun. Pace of play was ok as there was a foursome ahead who took their time. Overall, the pace was alright.
For a shorter course, you need to be able to hit your spots. Fairways are wide open, there are not many blind tee shots. The greens are somewhat raised. Hiting the center in regulation will provide you with birdie opportunities.
Had the pleasure of playing with a couple from Iceland, a truly enjoyable couple who play more than 180 rounds a year. I really had lots of fun today. An overall great golfing experience!
Best Value in Orlando
This course never disappoints anytime you play it. It is a great value for the money you pay. The course is always in great condition and as well organized. It can bog up on a few holes causing the round to be pretty long. But as long as you’re just enjoying the afternoon or morning it is a great place to play.
Good course and challenge
Course is short but it makes you think. We had a windy cool day, it made for a longer course and challenging greens.
Overall it is in good shape, the greens are sandy and a little rough.
I have now played here several times this winter.
As usual,, it was an enjoyable round especially since I got joined up with a wonderful couple of snowbirds from Wisconsin.
The greens had recently been top dressed which made the putting difficult...but this is an essential part of course maintenance.
I play a lot of different courses during my winter sabbatical, but Ventura is one of my favorites
And the 19th Hole is one of the best in the area.
Course was in good shape but they have just put sand/fertilizer on so they were a little slow and uneven.
Nice course, slow play
We enjoyed the 9 holes we played but left since at that point it was already 2 and a half hours. There was a single inmfront of us and thrn groups of 4. That should not be allowed They had been started as a 3 some but split at the first green. The folks we were paired with said that it eas usually a 5 or more hour round. So after 9 we left. The course looked good and was well kept.
The course was short but challenging. Narrow fairways and lots of water. the greens were excellent, held well and rolled fast and true. A good value worth playing.
We had a great time. The course had an interesting layout. Some water, but not overwhelming. We would play here again when we’re back in town.
What a great day, from the pro shop staff to the starters. All were very friendly. Was paired up with 2 other guys who had played the course and gave great advice.
Played from the blue tees, course was in good shape for this time of year. Greens were fast and rolled true. Don’t let the length fool you, you have to drive the ball well and play course management. Pace of play was great, never had to wait for a tee box to open. I’ll be back.
A most enjoyable round of golf.
My wife and I booked in for an 11.37 tee time and under a bright blue sky we started on a busy course. First impressions were excellent and more than matched during the round by the excellent course condition and testing layout. The concerns I had over the overall distance, only 5659 yds from longest tees, was soon dispelled by the testing greens and many opportunities to lose your ball in water. Highly recommended.
