Augustine Golf Club
About
Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

Course was in great shape.
Played Augustine for the first time. The course is open yet challenging. Enough variation to keep it interesting. The greens were challenging as well but in perfect shape. The range wasn't open and the carts are a little dated but it was well worth the price. I will definitely play here again.
Bunkers need work
The course is in really good shape. The fairways are in great shape and the greens roll true. I gave it 4 stars out of 5 stars because the bunkers need work. They did not have much sand and they were inconsistent. Outside of that, I have no complaints and will definitely be playing there again.
Augustin
The course was in good shape although the greens had a lot to be desired. A lot of divots and ball marks on the greens
Poor Course Management
Usually the course is good to better than average. This time it was in horrible shape. The back nine was closed. The front nine was just sanded. Thats normal, but no one told Golf Now, therefore people booked believing they had the whole course...bad! The side that was open, had 2 inch sand tread marks all over the greens. It was literally NOT playable. And to add inslut, there are several blind approaches into greens. The ground team left 6 inch rough one cut off greens. I lost several balls on excellent shots into the blind greens. The course management people should be ashamed.
Not a good experience this time
The greens were fairly beat up. The men’s locker room was disgusting, and when we let the staff know they did not seemed surprised or concerned. We were told the range was “closed”. However, when we went to the range there were 5 or 6 people with range bags and balls. When finished with 18 holes, the range was FULL. The beverage cart lady was very nice, and the bar area was clean. I do like the layout of the course. It seems the quality of care (for the course and their customers) has gone way down. I’ve played this course many times before and it has never been like this. I hope they will improve.
Too Pricey for the Conditions
Like other recent reviewers, I found the rough way too long. I realize you aren't supposed to hit it there but without spotters on the course, it is easy to lose a ball even if you keep a good line on where it entered. I don't know if it is a staff shortage or a choice to leave it long but I won't be back until it is cut. The greens rolled fairly well but are a bit ball-marked. The fairways were very firm. Tee boxes were a bit beat up. For $81, I expect better. I can spend that at better courses in NOVA.
Great layout, terrible fairways and bunkers.
One of the most expensive courses in the area which is not supported by poor course conditions. Bunkers unplayable and fairways lack grass. Grass at green side is too long and in some cases in excess of 6”.
Great layout but with DC pricing and poor conditions there is a large margin of difference between the two. Pricing should be consistent with course conditions.
Poor conditions
The bunkers and I mean ALL bunkers should be GUR. They are some of the worst I have ever experienced. Zero sand and full of water and rocks.
The course is riddled with bare ground with zero grass. We played rock and root rule due to the excessive playing conditions. Poorly marked hazard areas, if marked at all. Rough around every green was not cut and in most holes in excess of 8-10”. Greens very slow. No water stations during a very hot day.
Had a great time
The course is excellent but the do need to mow the rough, it is WAY to high! I think it will help pace of play too.
