Recommendations: You can ask the player's handicap status at check-in and recommend the tee box they should be playing from. I played in Spain and Portugal last summer, and all the courses I played did that. I spoke to a manager, and he told me it had improved the pace of play. He said traditionally, the blue tees are called “Men’s Tee.” therefore, all men, regardless of their skill level, will gravitate to the blues.
great time!
this was a hard and challenging course. the views are spectacular. I would say the back and front 9 are equally challenging and really enjoyed the par 3s from up high over the water. this course is unique, and I will be back!
My Favorite Course in SoCal
I play more here than I do my own home course. My only issue I had today was that the greens were still coming back from their aeration we’re furry & super slow.
Once done with aeration & they’re but as usual, lookout!! I’m used to their quick greens.
Great value for the money at any rate.
Transparent
This was awful! I paid for a golf cart to drive only only on cart path. This should have been displayed when booking my tee time and also, at the pro desk when paying your fees. I feel the Price should be cut in half when these conditions present themselves.
Not worth the money
Lot of issues, from tee boxes to fairway grass( patches of brown grass that are dried up, or on some with no grass at all but dried up concrete like fairways) definitely not worth the fee that they charge. No communication with the staff, makes you feel like they just take your money and oops you go. Will never play here again
One of the Best
I played The Babe after the first rain we had for a while in SoCal. This was the first time a played it in several years. It is still tight in some areas and still in good condition. Fairways were good and greens nice, maybe a touch slow because of the moisture. The only part of the course that was not at its best were the traps; probably, a result of the rain but some were hard and some had puddles. A good raking/dragging would have handled both situations. But nevertheless, it is still one of the best courses in the Los Angeles area.
