Worst day golf in my life
Infested with mosquitoes(9/17/23). 60-70 bites all over the body.
Couldn't hit a single shot, nor putt without 20 mosquitoes trying to feast on me.
By the 9th hole, mosquito bites became unbearable and had to call it a day.
I had informed the pro shop of the situation, and to my surprise, they were already well aware of the situation.
Welll then, why not inform your players beforehand?
Why don't you accommodate your guests with at least a repellent spray before the round begins?
Or better yet, shut down the course until you have theo situation under control.
Sadly, all they care about is $$$ up front. Well, they lost my business here.
This was absolutely the worst experience I had in playing golf.
And will never be coming back.
Disappointing
First group in front of us played from the blues. They were not handicapped to play blues. Many time missing the ball while teeing off. Plus they pull their carts right up to the tee boxes. Often times parking next to the green. No Marshall was was on the course. They played 1 to 2 holes behind group in front of them. Sand traps had little to no sand to hit out of. Driving range was full of people with multiple baskets of balls. Many people receiving instruction while occupying 2 tee mates. Kids hitting balls on the practice putting area with irons making divots on putting green. Should have a practice spots reserved for people playing a round. Had to wait 15mins for a place to hit balls on the range.
Shoreline
Course in fair condition. There were several areas in the fairways and around the greens that were dried out and bare. The greens were fast and the second hole was especially sloped too much.
Slow play and flooded greens
This is the slowest round of golf I've every played. It took over 5:30 hours to complete! In addition, the group with a 30 minute later tee time jumped in line at the start and the Marshall didn't stop them. Does this mean we can buy a cheap twilight tee time and show up at 8am? Lastly, the greens were flooded. After the round, I heard that they did it on purpose to prepare for a tournament the following week. It would be good to let us know. Also, beware of squirrels which dig holes that can twist your ankle and steal your hot cheetos from your cart.
Nothing Special
I think for the money I spent there are other courses in the Bay Area I would prefer to play at. The property has some nice amenities (driving range, full restaurant/bar), but the course is in just average shape, pace of play can get really slowed down on the back 9.
Good Value
Greens were decent. Fairways were a little parched and rough. Pace of play was painfully slow…but it was a Friday afternoon in summer, gotta expect that. For the price paid, can’t beat it.
Much better than I expected given the price. Pretty good value for the money. We paid $62 pp walking, starting the tee at 9:20am.
