SouthWood Golf Club

Greens are fast and roll true. I gave the conditions a 4 only because it has been devastated by drought. Fairly hilly course with lots of bunkers populating the fairways and greensides. The drought has removed much of the water around the course. I am from Atlanta, GA and this course is right on par with some of the better courses in the Atlanta area.

This is a beautiful and well maintained course. The greens and fairways were fantastic. Tee boxes were pretty good though they had plenty of divots. They have 6 tee boxes to choose from so perfect for all skill levels.

This course does have elevation changes so some shots are played on uneven ground. The rough is also very thick so sometimes hard to find balls and hit out of.

There were just a few water holes but nothing that would make you loose too many balls. Plenty of bunkers but this is a great layout for a golf course and I look forward to playing here again!

I saw the cart girl twice while playing and there were multiple bathrooms and places to refill your water throughout.

This was the first time I played Southwood as I usually play Seminole. I got a hot deal on Golfnow for Southwood and have wanted to try this course out for quite some time. Cool and nice part of this course is that they have 5 tees to choose from when hitting.

It is a beautiful well kept up course. I would say this course is much harder than Seminole due to the elevation changes on the holes as well as the thicker rough. It is very open so you shouldn't lose any balls. There were not too many water holes so no need to really worry about that.

There has not been any rain in Tallahassee for almost 2 weeks but the course was soggy so not sure if they over-water or if the irrigation had problems, but the course was soggy in some places.

The course is lined with fantastic semi-mansions that are absolutely gorgeous! I played as a single and was stuck behind multiple threesomes and foursomes so that added time to my round.

The cart girl came twice during my play and there are bathrooms and water on the course throughout so that was nice.

I would 100% play this course again for the amount I paid ($30) however I think I enjoy Seminole course better.

The course was challenging yet open. Wide fairways beautiful oaks and ponds. The clubhouse is very nice. The food however has really gotten poor. All in all I love this course.

If you are visiting or live in the area, you should make Southwood a must play. It is a challenging course from any tee . The tees, fairways and greens are in excellent condition. The practice facilities are also top notch.

It doesn't get any better in Tallahassee. Even on a cloudy/rainy day the course played well.

Got a hot deal on Golfnow. Best public course in Tallahassee. Greens had been punched earlier this week but they were still in great shape. This course will test every facet of your game and you will use all 14 clubs in your bag. Great mixture and variety of holes that should appeal to all golfers of any skill level.

Great layout. ...friendly, helpful staff......practice facilities are top notch too. I highly recommend you try Southwood. ...you won't be disappointed.

I got a great discount on a round of golf with a midday tee time. The greens were recently aerated and sanded. Putting on the greens will prove quite challenging until the turf recovers. The grounds crew are doing an excellent job in making sure the course is in top tier shape for the busy fall cooler weather season. You can expect tee times to be more difficult to obtain as the weather cools. Southwood has already began hosting high school matches. Tournaments will occupy more course time also in the fall. I suggest you play now; while it is easy to schedule a convenient tee time.

Everything was top notch. From start to finish. A little slow at times when a pair jumped in front of us. Thankfully they quit.

First time at this course. Starter made it easy to get going. Relatively busy but not packed. Course in very good shape. Greens were receptive and rolled true. Food at turn was being grilled as clubhouse was in use. Excellent food. Nice but much needed water dispensers at various holes appreciated. Overall excellent experience.

Great course not much water hazards wide open fairways not some very deep rough if u are errant with your shots

I play at least every other week and I always look for the golf now rate at Southwood. What a deal for the best course in Tallahassee. It's always in top shape and extremely consistent. For good golfers this is a good test, you'll have some birdie opportunities and some par struggles. Greens are in solid condition year round and towards winter time get good and quick. For high handicappers this course would probably be tougher than your looking for. I'd recommend teeing it forward and not letting the longer holes eat you up! Get out and play this course on the golf now rate, you won't be disappointed!

The staff is not the most welcoming to the golf now golfers. The fairways and greens are pristine. Don't be a yard off the green or the fairway. The rough is tour quality, which means that you'll spend half your round searching for your ball or watching the guys in front of you searching for theirs. I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone over a 10 handicap looking for a nice day on the golf course.

Best course in the area by far. The course was set up for a qualifier and really challenged our game.

Southwood continues to be the best value for local courses in the Tallahassee area. Especially the Mon-Thursday Twilight rate. The greens could be faster, that's all it needs.

This was my second time playing the course and each hole was manicured beautifully. The greens had been punched recently which was a little disappointing - but there's nothing to do about that. All of the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and I got a great rate off GolfNow.com.

Will definitely be playing there again.

Course was well kept. Greens and fairways were fine.
Could have played faster had a Ranger been on patrol. Staff was excellent, polite and informative. Enjoyed the course.

I played this course at twilight rate for $25.00. Great value, great course, great holes, very fun yet challenging. Greens had been sanded recently but still putted amazing. Will play this course again when I am in the area
