In Tallahassee for work and had a day off. Got to play this course and was really impressed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Course was gorgeous. Members were super friendly. Liked it so much I payed $18 to play 36! Tired but happy.

Played here early on a Sunday morning. Pace of play was slow on the front 9 and opened up on the back. Was surprised to finish in about 4 hours since the front seemed to slog along, but we moved along fine later in the morning. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Course was in great shape. Nothing too challenging here as far as the layout goes but the greens made up for it. Uphill putts rolled downhill (and FAST), left-to-right breaks went the other way. Definitely left several strokes on the putting surface. This is the nicest course in Tallahassee, definitely will be playing again.

I play this course quite often and it is one of my favorites. The staff is always friendly and the service is great. The greens are in excellent condition almost year round. I would recommend it to anyone.

Well maintained course and clubhouse. Friendly staff. Course layout for moving hole-to-hole is a little bit confusing. I would definitely come back and bring others.

This course exceeded my expectations. Great Condition, Great Layout

Play was good except for being behind a foursome that wouldn't allow us to pass by. Rarely happens so it's not a deterant, just affected a few of our shots having to wait on them every hole.

The course is always in great shape. Wide fairways yet very challenging .

I researched a number of courses for my trip to Tallahassee and chose Southwood. I am glad I did. The staff was exceptionally nice, there was an ice machine outside the clubhouse I could use to ice down the beer I brought, the pace was fantastic and the course was in good shape overall. If you are looking for a course that has the greenest of green fairways you will be unhappy. The grass is clearly seasonal. However if you are looking for a course that is well manicured, does not have dirt spots and is cart friendly, this is the one. Note the greens were very fast. Other than the greens the course is very forgiving.

$5 gets you unlimited balls at the practice range. It's a good idea to bring a GPS or range finder to save time looking for the yardage markers. The course is open to the wind and uses bunkers and strategically placed trees to shape the holes. The best feature of the course is its large contoured greens. Several tee choices ranging from 7000+ yards from the tips down to less than 3000 yards from the front tees means golfers at any skill level can play this course.

Nice to be able to play at a good course for reasonable costs.

Enjoyed playing Southwood! Course is in great shape, greens a little rough, but not surprising due to the weather we've had here over the summer. Great course, great staff. Even had about an hour rain delay, so we headed to the clubhouse to enjoy some libations and food.

Fun course. Nice facilities. The area has had a lot of rain, so the rough along some of the fairways and in front of some greens was too high. If one could find the ball, hacking it out was a major challenge. The crew will eventually get caught up with mowing, and the course will be much more fair.

Played at 5pm on Monday as a single. Didn't think much of the course starting out with so many houses lining both sides of the fairway, hole after hole. Interesting layout for sure, but the housing really turned me off. After skipping through groups and some holes, I found the layout to be more and more interesting and then on the back 9, when there were no golfers to be found, the course really came to life. Starting from 10, but more so with 13 and on, the design was awesome. Bermuda greens were superfast with tremendous contours. Excellent value.

The course was in excellent condition with an excellent practice facility. Had a good time.
