Calderone Golf Club

I had golfed this course a few years ago with my golf partner. Recently had the desire(with a good price on golfnow) to make the 45 minute drive west to the Chelsea mi area. Played it two Saturdays in row.First with another couple and the next with my brother, This is a NICE course. The layout is fair and challenging from the white or blue tees and then there are the black for the young big hitters. The weather both Saturdays was perfect. The staff was friendly and cordial. The first week we played right at 4 hours..not bad.The second Saturday it was 4.5 hours. The course does not set a pace of play standard time..Our early pm tee time was just after an outing so we heard.We thought that would allow for a FAST pace with only a few groups out before us at 1...There was no ranger to monitor...but it did seem at least 1 foursome and maybe 2 in front set a bit of a slower pace than what one might expect.,,this seemed to be due to a rather slow pre shot routine by SOME of those we could see in front of us. All in all the nice weather mitigated some of this additional time.My only slight on this facility are the sand traps...they were a little below average in that with a little time and new fresh sand it would be that much more enjoyable. It was and is worth the drive from metro Detroit area to experience a good course in farm country

Course has a wonderful layout and is in pretty decent condition. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Course is in great shape and plays fair greens are clean and roll well.

If you were to put the same course in Detroit, where I live, it would be at least a $60 round. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The course was very busy and my group finished in a little over 4 hours. I will definitely be coming back in the future.

People working at course acted like you did not matter. No water or beverage cart on course. Pace of play was brutally slow and no ranger. Course conditions were much worse than last time I played there a month ago.

Second time playing this course due to a great price from golfnow. The course plays long from the blues but is fair. Greens in pretty good shape but the bunkers need a lot of attention. Mostly gravel rocky sand and some had not been worked on in awhile. Overall an enjoyable round at a great price.

Excellent time. Course was not busy there are exceptional views from the tees. Course is playable, fair and in good shape. It would be worth much more in a different location.

the course layout is excellent. no water on course and not one sign that tells you what hole your on. value was worth the drive.

started off great pace of play.Nobody infront of us,then we made the turn and all of sudden we were pact with 3 foursome on some holes. It is hard to understand what happen,maybe they had 9 holers start on the back? we managed even though the threesome behind us wanted to play thru us,yet we had a nice round and enjoyed the day.Watch out for 9 & 18 they have water that you can't see from the tee.

It was a beautiful day to be out playing a late afternoon round of golf. We played nine holes in 1-1/2 hours with no wait on any hole. The course is in great shape. It has several challenging holes to keep you from getting lazy. The only difficulty we had was trying to get up the hills with our cart that was running out of power. Overall, we enjoyed the course a lot.

Playing golf in November is crazy especially in Michigan. But on this day, the course was still in great shape and the greens were still rolling smooth and fast. I will always love playing this British style type of course. 5 stars for sure.

Played in mid October and greens had been recently aerated..to be expected. Everything was in good shape, fairways, greens, tees all mowed perfectly. I enjoyed the course but there are several tee shots where you cannot see the landing areas. A second time around would be a little different. All in all was a good experience for mid October...snack bar was closed.

Pretty wide open course, but lots of bunkers in fairways and around greens. The greens were aerated for fall and a little rough.

The front nine is set up as a links style course and the back nine is kind of traditional. the greens were in great shape and rolled pretty true.

The course was in beautiful condition, but the clubhouse/facilities could use some updating. There was a sign posted on the front door indicating there would be "no cart girl on course" and "no water coolers on course". For mid-August this was somewhat disappointing... otherwise, golf was great.
