Not good
I have played this course a few times and this is the worst condition I have found it in. The fairways are what they are. At least there were no bare spots. The greens were terrible. There were sprouts of some sort growing across most of them. Trying to putt over them and hold a line was impossible. We have had almost no Winter. They should be in better shape.
Good track for high handicapper
Good day 70* sunny. First rime playing this course. Wide fairways and mostly dry. Brown grass fairways , greens not so good but it’s winter. I’ll be back next April
Had a great time!
Course was in great condition! Staff was extremely friendly. Tacos and margarita at the turn were amazing.
A favorite of the Austin muni courses
One of my preferred Austin muni courses, somewhat challenging and in great shape!
Great place to golf!
Staff very friendly and the course is very nice and well maintained.
Keep up the great work!
Low Key Fun, in Great Shape
Wasn’t expecting anything fancy showing up to Mo Willy for a last-minute tee time, but I was happily impressed. The practice facilities are dismal, small mat range and one combined putting/chipping green. Tee box for 1 and 10 are basically combined, just aimed in different directions. Combined with the very affordable rate, expectations were low.
However, I was very surprisingly impressed with the quality of the course. The layout is fairly simple and not super challenging by itself - not a ton of punishing misses. That being said, the course is in great shape. Tee boxes were pristine, fairway grass was consistent and pure, and the rough was thick, clean, and challenging to hit out of - an unusual thing to experience at a Muni in the ATX area.
Very fun round with low stress and no judgement (we all know how some courses can be). Bring plenty of water because they don’t have any on the course. They even let you bring your dog as long as it’s well-behaved. Some great views of the skyline, and tons of planes flying right above you into AUS the whole round. Definitely recommend playing at Mo Willy!
Poor greens, slow pace of play
Greens are in really bad shape. Sad for how much money they make for being busy these days they can't get the greens fixed. Fairways in good shape but sucks to play a round when the greens are bad.
Pace was also horrible, marshal just drives around and does nothing.
solid Austin muni
First time at Mo Williams. About 6600 yds from the Blue tees (71.9/128). Only a couple of holes had water, but some of the tee shots were a bit tight or needed a big carry. Was pretty slow, but expected for a weekend. Followed a group playing the tips who should not have been. No marshals on the course, no water, and didn't see a drink cart until #16. Bottleneck at #3 which is a long and challenging par 3 over water. Tee boxes and greens all around need some attention. Overall, enjoyed the round and will go back soon.
Wonderful Time
Fairways and rough are in great conditions. Greens were in fair condition though a small number of weeds. Pros and cart vendors were nice and informative. Only negative would be that you can't share golf bags. One couple (guy and girl) were teeing off to start a walking round when told they are required to rent a second bag to play. Think it was around $6. Not entirely sure why but they both nailed it down the middle of the fairway. Gotta make those extra bucks where you can.
