Unlimited Potential unrealized thus far
This layout is unique in a lot of ways and forces one to actually stategize instead of just grip it and rip it. It is a very tough challenge from the Black and blue tees, especially on the back 9. It is very playable for higher handicappers from the more forward tees.
The biggest issues are are the condition of the tee boxes, fairways, and greens. It starts with the driving range, but the course just never seems to mature. Meaning it always looks and plays like a course that has just been opened. No consistent turf on any playing surface. I am guessing that is from inconsistent fertilizing and watering. Maybe trying to save money, but, in my opinion, costing them money because better players stay away do to less than premium conditions. It really has the potential to be a premier and prestigious course.
Deceivingly easy at first, NOT the case
First & foremost I must say that the Bridges at Tartan Pines will test you as a Golfer. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player DO NOT let the front 9 of the course deceive you because once you make that turn you better be ready to put on your game face. I’ve played this course 10 times in the past year while on military business as Fort Rucker and it’s always a nice way to get away from work, have a challenging yet enjoyable game of golf. The course is beautiful, some fairways are open & some are narrow but the obstacles on the back 9 really make for a challenge. I highly recommend this course, anytime I come to Enterprise I will be golfing at this course, multiple times.
Also, the driving range has a great rates for Small/Medium/Large buckets of balls, very relaxed atmosphere and the amount of practice balls you get compared to the Silver Wings course is SOOOOO much better.
Great as always A+
Greens are always in great shape, love the challenging layout of the back9, pro shop staff are always fantastic.
Fun Value
Not sure what other courses are in the area but for a fall Saturday afternoon the price was unbeatable for this type of course in my area. The course is a little blind but if you can drive ahead it's easy to see lines. The course was wetter than I expected and the leaves made finding balls a little difficult at times, plugging and leaves were the main issue. It was a nice layout, fair price, and great value I'd play again if in the area.
class act
fairways and greens as good as the expensive courses i've played in orlando and branson. employees are pleasant and very helpful. bridges at tartan pines is a class act. i will be back.
Best course I've played in a long time.
The course layout called for accurate shots, not brute force. There were places for risk/reward shots. The carts were clean and had score cards on them as well as GPS, and bottle of sand for my divots. There was also a small ice chest with ice already loaded. The staff was friendly and helpful. The fairways and greens were in great shape. I will definitely go back when I am in that area.
Must play!
Always a blast playing here. Friendly staff, beautiful layout and very well maintained.
Disappointed
After reading the reviews on this course I was disappointed to find out that it was just another subdivision course that was just in ok condition. The greens were in good shape but the fairways were hard and dry. Some grass but you could tell there is no watering system for the fairways. The cart guy had to give us a cart without gps because they were out of them and the scorecard had no layouts of the holes so we had no idea what each hole was like. There were no signs on the entire course to let you know what hole you were on or the layout. Drove an hour and a half to get there and wouldn’t do it again.
Excellent Golf
Tartan Pines is one of the nicest golf courses that I've played in the last five years. We were warmly welcomed when checking in and given good directions about where to find the putting green and practice range.
Tees and fairways were in excellent condition. The greens were fast and smooth. Bunkers were filled with soft, fluffy sand and were well groomed. Altogether the course was in fine shape. The ONLY negative thing I could possibly say is that they could use a nice sign around the 10th green directing to #11 tee.
Overall I found the course to be quite playable for just about any level of golfer skill. The back 9 is slighlly more challenging that the front 9.
Be aware that the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays but at least you can still get a hot dog at the bar.
Enjoyed My Day at Bridges
Tee time was for 10:45 AM. Course was mostly empty surprisingly for a Sunday with clear weather. Course was in pretty good condition, save for one or two fairways where the grass could’ve used a cut. It was a hot day and the only thing I would say is that there could’ve been more water jugs on the course. But there was a cart girl making rounds that I saw 4 times so there’s an option for refreshment. Otherwise, starter was very polite, lady in the pro shop was friendly, and course is worth it for the price. I will be back if I’m in the Dothan/Enterprise area.
Excellent Course - Greens could be Quicker
I played this course 20 years ago. This is a really nice course - great layout - challenging.
The course was in excellent shape...except the greens were on the slow side IMO. It is hot and humid. I know it's difficult to keep greens quick and not burn them. It was late in the day, but still the greens just needed a bit more speed.
Other than that - EXCELLENT.
