Oak Harbor Golf Club
About
Situated just 25 minutes outside of New Orleans, Oak Harbor Golf Club is one of the area's most popular courses. The course is a challenging test without being too intimidating for beginners. It offers risk-reward holes that will appeal to low and high handicappers alike. Lee Schmidt, who worked closely with Pete Dye, designed the golf course, and incorporated many of Dye's signature features into the design. Sculpted mounding and native grasses frame the generous landing areas and you'll even find Dye's trademark railroad ties framing the greens. There are also several lakes that come into play throughout. Oak Harbor Golf Club's seventh and 15th holes are particularly notable for their intimidating tee shots over water. If you strategize carefully, the four par 5s provide some birdie opportunities but you'll have to carefully navigate through a combination of water, traps, and undulations.

Great experience!
I love playing this course. It’s always challenging and fun. The greens are beautiful and staff is always friendly
Greens are great…and that’s it
Went and played the first time today. The greens are in incredible shape! That’s where the good stops. The fairway are awful. I know we haven’t had much rain lately, but it was like hitting off concrete in a lot of areas. Ball rolled for days and would bounce super high coming off the hard ground. Terrible lies all over the place. Other gripe is there’s basically water on every single hole. I like a challenge, but that just gets flat out annoying. The tee boxes are also in terrible shape. There was literally a cut down tree by one, and the par 3 tee boxes are basically sand bunkersz Finally, it was $53. I would maybe lay $30 for this place. While the greens are great, it doesn’t really matter when the whole journey there is terrible. Take some of that care and put it on the fairways and tee boxes.
Greens were in great condition. They are well maintained
Tee boxes needed to be watered.
Course layout was nice; however tee boxes and fairways needed a little TLC. Water the tee boxes and fairways would make this course really nice!
Under repair
The best thing about the course were the greens. All the greens were in good shape, a little slow but, in fine condition.
Most of the fairways had some large areas that appeared to be under repair or at least in need of repair.
Oak harbor
Best maintained course in Slidell, but beginners like me will go through a lot of balls on this course. Not only is there a ton of water but the rough is so thick if you aren’t right on top of your ball you will never find it. Greens were very nice and moderately fast. So as long as you can manage keeping it straight this is the course for you
Great Course!
Found a great deal on Tee Off website for Oak Harbor. The price was great and the course was even better. The greens were absolutely beautiful, which is hard to maintain during the summer here in Louisiana. Will definitely be back soon!
Best course on the north shore
Had a great time. Played 18 Very challenging holes not for a beginner for sure. I did break a hundred. Happy with the course. Will go back for sure
Been a while
Its has been about 20-30 years since i had played the course. I had my Friend that just has radiation seeds implanted and the cart paths were quite rough on him.
It would have been better if we had not driven on the cart paths at all.
Please a little cart path maintenance!!!
