Oak Harbor Golf Club
About
Situated just 25 minutes outside of New Orleans, Oak Harbor Golf Club is one of the area's most popular courses. The course is a challenging test without being too intimidating for beginners. It offers risk-reward holes that will appeal to low and high handicappers alike. Lee Schmidt, who worked closely with Pete Dye, designed the golf course, and incorporated many of Dye's signature features into the design. Sculpted mounding and native grasses frame the generous landing areas and you'll even find Dye's trademark railroad ties framing the greens. There are also several lakes that come into play throughout. Oak Harbor Golf Club's seventh and 15th holes are particularly notable for their intimidating tee shots over water. If you strategize carefully, the four par 5s provide some birdie opportunities but you'll have to carefully navigate through a combination of water, traps, and undulations.

Nice course
This course is under new ownership and it shows. Granted, there are things that need attention like the bunkers, but this course is on the way to staking it's claim as the best semi-private course for miles around. Condition is very good. Nice definition of fairways and rough, greens are good and layout makes you think. Fairways are as good as they have been in a decade. Exciting to see what's happening at this course. Well worth playing. If you play this layout well, you'll play well anywhere.
Great day on the course
Everything was great except pace. Not sure if one group was playing really slow or just too many groups in a small time frame. Round took almost 5 hours to complete. Met some nice guys ahead of us along the way. Thanks Oak Harbor, we will be back soon.
Needs extensive improvements
Fairways are not up to par they have patchy dirt though out the course with numerous pot holes on many of the fairways not sure if they are working on water lines or not but it’s been this way for several years now, be careful while driving. The fairways are also very dry and hard the greens are also dry and hard but do have grass, I hit several greens with a lob wedge and the ball bounces about 8 feet and rolls off the back, for $25 on GN hot deals you can’t expect to much I suppose.
S&L Michigan
My wife and I enjoyed our round, pace of play was great and the greens as well as the course itself were in great shape check in was awesome appreciated the conversation
We will be back
I won't return
It should have been closed, so much of the course was under repair for bad irrigation it was a mess. Fit a ball in the fairway an you will likely lose a ball in a hole or place where drainage repair is taking place. I should have asked for my money back.
GN Hot Deal price
Worth 30.00. Challenging course. Greens were 9/10. Fairways not much grass. Tee boxes horrible.
Good value.
Can be challenging. Greens in good shape. Some of the fairway areas are bare and rough but otherwise a great and challenging course for the money.
Gave course conditions two stars because of all the holes in the middle of the fairways. Lost two balls in the fairway. I really wish they would fix this problem.
