A bit disappointing
Very slow play waited every hole. 5 plus hours.
Greens were decent but most of the course was not maintained that well. Unfortunate as is looked like it was a very special course at one time.
Tee times where you wont finish the course
I saw that tee rates did not differ from 1 pm + till later. Starting at 2:42 we didn't finish all 18 holes. If you are not going to finish then the tee time fee should be slightly less, perhaps $35.
thanks
Morongo golf
Course layout is interesting and challenging. The course conditions were horrendous. The fairways had a combination of dry bare spots and other areas of standing water and mud with ruts from golf carts. The bunkers had no sand. They were just hard panned dirt with clumps of weeds growing in them. The greens had so many unrepaired ball marks it was like they had been hit by bombshells. I repaired at least 50 ballmarks and didn’t even make a dent in the total number.
Best value in/out of town
I can't say enough good things about this course. Greens, fairways, tee boxes and carts we A+. The fact that it's $65 for Seniors on the weekend is a steal. I'm going to go back and play Champions very soon.
Always a Treat
Always a treat to play at Tukwet Canyon, especially when you play well!
Great course!
Enjoyed play Legends course. Staff are all very friendly. Greens were 7 out of 10 on speed. Great fairways. Bunkers were not the best. Some were great and others had grass growing out of them. Definitely review the course layout before playing. Some holes are slightly blind. Overall a very good experience. I’d definitely play again.
Rude players
Slow play on a very hot day. Group behind us were very inpatient, one player hit into us and wanted to play thru despite the course being totally caked up.
Might be time of year
Course was in rough shape. Especially the greens. Burnt out.
My rating based on current conditions. I recall playing Tahquitz a few years ago and it was better.
Beautiful course, but they need a marshal for pace of play
This remains a beautiful course and the conditions on the course were wonderful (except for one hole). The greens were fast but fair, the fairways were nice, and the rough was thick, but not impossible. Overall, I would love to play this course again. However, there were groups moving extremely slowly, and there were no marshals to help speed them up. Otherwise, great course and I look forward to returning.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon Legends Course
Very disappointing as the course clearly has not had any money spent on it for some time. A lot of debris around like dead branches on the side of the course and uncut long grass (off the fairway). Bunkers are rock hard and many have grass growing in them as well as collection of water which would drain if the bunkers had sand in
them. A real pity all round as the course and its surrounds could be very attractive. The basic layout is quite good. Needs a meaningful amount of capital investment.
Little Rain, Soaked Course?
First tiny bit of rain in a while and the course was soaked. Maybe someone pay attention to the expected weather? For the past couple days, the expectation was that it would cooler and that there would be a little rain. Maybe shut off the sprinklers or less time on instead of soaking the course. If this wasn't from the sprinklers, this should be the courses, "Director of Golf" wake-up call to put better drainage and retaining walls in or the course will continue to wash away with even moderate rain. Not much rain 90% of the bunkers were replaced by pools. Already bad (rock filled, no sand) bunkers just got more unplayable.
Chewed up from many divots, the green on Legends needs some help.
Rain delay
Only got to the eighth hole and rain came down and security close the course called for a rain check twice and never got a response
challenging course
I played the Legends course. The course was wide open for the first eight holes (nice surprise for a Saturday). Fairways and Greens were in great shape. Sands needed more attention as the were all hard panned (I had to chip out rather than blast out).
I would definitely play here again.
Good conditions
Course was in great condition. Greens were fast, but held a good approach shot. Played an afternoon 18 in just over 3 hours. Nice course!
