Nice place, really enjoyed the Mountain Course.
Played the River and Mountain courses. The Mountain course made you work for your pars. Great greens, they rolled nice.
Great Experience
We have driven past numerous times, but hadn't played until now. Course was in great shape and the greens were also. Speed on the greens was very consistent, but enough undulation to make dropping the puts a challenge. The views are great from the river/mountain course. A number of the holes require less than a full driver and while we had GPS, a range finder would have been helpful to shoot certain distances as this was my first time on the course. Do play this course and enjoy!.
Great Course / Experience
We played the Links and River Courses today. Played the Mountain previously. Busy but pace was excellent. Marshall kept it rolling. Played Porta Chima 2 weeks ago, and would rate these courses much higher in course care, staff, and pace. If you haven't played here you are missing out. We are going to try and get a couple more days in soon.
Great day to play
For the money, very hard to beat. Great layout, great staff, very well run facility
Challenging but fun course
Fun Arnold Palmer designed course, be sure and play the Mountain 9.
Not great
This is a property that has been allowed to deteriorate. They do appear busy and the staff are not interested in customer service. Their are several other better options for play at the Lake.
Solid Value for Our Price
The staff at Osage National was exceedingly friendly and very attentive. We certainly felt that we received excellent value for the money.
The River nine was certainly superior to the Mountain nine, but both were solid golf courses.
The River was in very good condition and the Mountain was in good condition (though the small pebbles in the top dressing on the Mountain course definitely impacted faster putts - guessing this is a short-term issue).
The overall experience and friendliness of every single staff member that we encountered made all of the difference in our experience. Again, the course was solid, but the very attentive staff greatly enhances the experience and will be the chief reason why we will return.
Wonderful Day of Golf
What a course. Staff was great. People wonderful. Pace was steady. Would play again anytime.
Very nice course to play ! Staff was excellent, I do think that a GPS system on the carts would be nice . But overall it was awesome. Would definitely play again !
First class
Treated like I was a member. Course was beautiful and challenging. I would definitely play it again.
Blind
The front nine wasn't so bas but the back had many blind shots and number 17 was totally ridiculis. Very hilly but in good shapr. Nice fiarways and greens but too difficult for 2 old men
Great Course / Experience
Played the course for the first time in over 5 years and loved it! Played from black tees. We played the Links first. Forgiving but makes you have good club selection. Mountain was next - wow! if you are a "spray hitter" beware and put the driver away on several holes. Blind landing zones and terrain changes are waiting for you. Greens were great, not overly fast but had to have some touch with good mid-week pins. Fairways are coming around. The staff, especially the Marshall and Bag staff were awesome. We will make it back a few times as the season wears on. The price for "hot deals" made it even more of a steal. Definitely want to hit this course if you get the chance.........
Don't play if you want to have fun and enjoy your round.
Course was in very bad shape compared to years past. Lady at the counter when we checked in was very friendly. When playing we had ranger constantly follow us. Later on he approached us and told us we need to pick up our place of play and that people were waiting on us. We looked back and there was no one on the tee box behind us or finishing up the hole behind us. This really is upsetting as we were trying to enjoy our round. We allowed four singles play through and a double. We were not holding anyone up. After finishing we went inside to speak to someone about the ranger following us and harassing us. The lady that we talked to at that time was very rude and said that if we don't like the way the ranger did things then we just shouldn't come back and that they don't need people like us on their course.
Poorly managed course
Ranger unresponsive and seemed to be hiding. Groups of 8 on a hole at one time. Lots of "double bagging" on, which really slowed the pace down.
Will not return....
Hard to identify distances to hazards
On the day we played it had rained earlier that morning, so it was cart path only. Not a big deal but what could have made the round more enjoyable, and easier to play were yardage markers in the fairway that were visible from the cart path. The cart paths wind around, and the fairways are so large that when you get to your ball you could be off the mark with the distances due to the layout of the cart paths. Also something that would have been nice was distances to hazards, our group had several shots that would not have been attempted if the distance to the hazard was known. Most courses have the scorecard with diagrams of the holes to use if not noted on the tee box, but the cards offered here had the bare minimum of information, and no way to know how far the hazard was. Having these small things would have made rating the course higher, much easier.
