Strange course
basically a 9 hole course turned into a 18 hole very strange
I am a member of this course and play here twice a week
It is a great 9 hole course with alternating tee boxes that make it 18. Management of the course is excellent with well mowed greens and fairways. The rough is maintained well enough not to loose your ball. I believe there are well over 100 members which add to the friendliness of staff and players. Carts are well maintained.
Needs work and water
Greens worn out. Ever heard of a sprinkler system? Not this course. Only played front nine because I was tired of poor conditions on every hole.
Good Experience
We got a great deal on Golf Now, played for around $10. There were about 4 or 5 greens that were in really bad shape, but the rest were in pretty good shape. Guessing that recent rain has helped out a lot, fairways were in pretty good shape. Some were a little overgrown. Not a very long course. Would not play the course for the weekend rate of $35, but for the right price will definitely come back. Not many people on course, we never had to wait to play. Would be a great course to bring your kids or beginners to teach them the game. We drove down with a foursome and scrambled the entire day and had a great time (course is BYOB so that was nice as well). The layout of course is a little confusing, we had some trouble finding next hole a couple of times. If you are planning on making a day of it I would recommend bringing your lunch or some snacks, pro shot doesn't have a lot to offer (I heard a tornado hit it pretty hard a couple of years ago). But overall if you are looking for a new place to play that offers some attractive holes, little wait time, and an inexpensive round, I would recommend this Top O' The Lake.
Bad shape
Very disappointed with this course as it is run down. Also that I paid full price to play paying through Golfnow. I could have just showed up and paid the same price that it was on Golfnow without the fees that GN charged me. My fault for not just calling the course first.
Everything above average except greens
overall the course was in good shape despite the drought conditions. four of the greens are a mess but the rest are pretty good. very fast
Ok course.
The course was fun to play. Definitely a beginners course. The greens need a lot of work on down holes. Course I plays pretty short. Liked the setup.
A bit rough, but enjoyable.
The course still hasn't recovered from last year's storm hit. Also it was originally a 9 hole course, and when it was expanded to 18, they had to be a bit creative in it's layout. Sometimes it was hard to find the next tee box. I would say, for it's condition, it is a bit pricy even using GolfNow. Having said that, I must admit that I enjoyed the round and would play it again if I lived nearer by.
