What a gem
What a gem. This was a bucket list course for me. It was worth every penny. The only reason I gave a few 4’s was a few spots on the greens. Maybe 2 or 3. The fairways were immaculate. Beautiful soft turf. Perfect tee boxes. Amazing views. Probably my favorite round I have ever played. It was a Saturday and there was 2 other people out. Amazing. Can’t wait to come back.
The course was in great 👍shape the pace of play was excellent no one pushing us no one was holding us up beautiful scenery 👍 with the lakes and rivers we will return 😀 thanks for a wonderful round
Overall good course to play
Course was in good shape and fun to play. Just needs a few tweaks to make it great. No ice was available for coolers and they don't allow personnel ones. Need to place divot repair boxes throughout course because every carts sand bottles were empty. Need to consider hiring a beverage cart operator or two because getting a drink from club house bar takes way to long. Overall I would highly recommend playing this course for the scenery and close interactions with the wildlife the venture across the fairway during play
Decent
It a bad course but it’s obvious it doesn’t get the same amount of attention as Indian mound. Greens were dirty. Biggest issue was that the pin positions were not at the position they were supposed to be in. And different holes were in different pin positions.
Underwhelming
Not a bad layout but not in the best of shape, particularly the bunkers. I understand they are planning to renovate the course starting in the coming months so I suspect that’s the reason. That said it’s not a bad value for the money.
Don’t waste your money
The course was very wet and it was very hot when we played. No water on the course and when we went in to the bar on the turn, my friend asked the bartender for a cup of ice and she said she could not do that and that water was out of a fountain by the bathrooms. When we went there The fountain wasn’t working. 98° temperature and no water on the course. Unbelievable.
Great course for a great price
for the area you can't ask for a well made course for such a reasonable price
I had a tee time with a good friend and daughter. The course we had a tee time for was walking only due to rain the day before. We were upgraded to another course. Even getting squeezed in pace of play was acceptable and it seemed the staff did a good job keeping it moving. We had a beautiful day and good time together.
On the average, all of the Jeykll courses are overpriced for the course conditions and maintenence levels they have at this time. As a former Greens Chair for a small private course with reasonable dues, our minimums were to have fantastic greens, practice and on course to run the same on the stimp meter, well manicured tee boxes, and firm approaches. I'm sure the maintenence crew is short staffed and not held to any standards that elevate the golfers experience on a well maintained course.
Oleander
Booked a tee time fo myself and my two sons, got there thinking we were going to play pine lakes. After checking in with the starter we were informed we would be playing oleander, which I replied “isn’t it a dump”. Starter tells us ohhhhh no it’s great!!!! Well the fairways had 2 ft tall blades of crab grass all over them and the greens looked like a smorgasbord of different grasses not to mention they rolled like shag carpet. Definitely not worth $64 a person will never be back.
Slow play
On the turn a foursome jumped in front of us… said they got lost and played the wrong course. There was just two of us but they insisted they should tee off first. By hole seventeen we were stacked three groups deep on the tee box waiting. No marshal or starter to be found. No other issues than that.
Rude pro shop staff and horrific conditions
Greeted by a rude and Un accommodating pro shop staff who claimed we didn’t book for the number of players we had. We then waited for 20 minutes after our tee time to tee off on the first. 5 hour round. Greens were some of the worst I’ve ever seen.
