Could be better
Overall disappointed in condition of course amenities as there were no towels on ball wash stations, ball washers lacked water, washrooms were dated and signage was lacking in places. Not up to the standards of the Westin brand.
Very playable Pete Dye layout. Fairways are wide but bunkers and water in play off the tee on most holes. Great condition, greens a bit slow but in great shape.
Greens too slow, bunkers too hard, good thing it was only $59
Very Nice Course
It is what you would expect from a Pete Dye course....lots of sand and water. Fairways are wide with most of the trouble coming around the greens. Homes are not usually in play. Staff is very friendly, course is nicely groomed, and since I was able to get a Golfnow Hotdeal for $57, a great value for the price. Definitely one of my favorite courses on the Palm Springs area.
Beautiful scenery but extremely busy and slow play
Very pretty course with enough challenges to make it interesting but still enjoyable for all skill levels.
Our experience was dampened by the number of golfers waiting for carts and what appeared to be overbooking of the course. Very slow play, some as a result of recent over-seeding that restricted the carts to the roughs, but the main reason appeared to be a result of a group of eight that were to tee off earlier in the morning being inserted into the afternoon when part of their group was delayed. This unfortunate event cased all the tee times to be delayed as well as long waits throughout the course. Our group was only able to get through 14 holes. The first 9 holes took close to 3 1/2 hours to complete. Normally one may expect to get 18 holes completed within 4 hours.
Too bad because the course is very scenic and well laid out.
Like the course but no cart on fairway and over seeded greens should have been posted when I booked the round.
Autumn golfing on the desert
Course was somewhat wet in area’s so had to ride on the. Rough. The weather was colder than usual so needed to club up. All and all we had a great round I shot a 79 and my partner shot a 90. Lots of water and bunkers on this course which means you need to be able to place your ball in the right spots or you could get into some trouble. The greens were quite slow so make sure you give it a chance to get in. Staff were helpful and it has a good driving range to warm up on. Hope you have as much fun as we had. Enjoy yourselves and hoping you get lots of birdies.
The Course restricts you to being shuttled to the first tee and from the parking lot to the staging area for the carts because of poor design of the facilities. This continues into the setup of the course with narrow fairways, multiple sand traps and steep rough on the sides which are in poor condition. The course attendant setting up the trip to the first hole and to the parking lot was rude and brusk. A challenging setup on the fairways by taking a mediocre course and adding many sand traps, dog legs and water hazards. It would be tough for high handicappers. The greens were like wet glue, very slow. Won't go back and recommend others to find a better course for their money.
We played 18 holes in 4 hours and 5 minutes. We didn’t have to wait on any hole. The staff were exceptionally friendly, from the shuttle driver to the Marshall to the staff person who greeted us at the end of the round. The only hiccup was at the Snack Bar there was no one there so we couldn’t buy lunch, but other than than we thoroughly enjoyed the round and the price offered great value for what we experienced.
The course is moderately challenging. The overseed has come in pretty well. The rough is dormant Bermuda. Carts on paths and in rough only which at times can be a pain. The greens are still very slow. Not one of Pete Dye's very punishing courses. I did enjoy the experience and would return once the greens are cut down.
Great golf course for relaxing round of golf. Staff very focused on making you feel at home. Course had been closed for seeding but even with having to walk off ruff, it was a pleasure to play. 4hr 15 min. Really enjoyed the round, best score since hip opt in July.
Course just reopened from reseed and cart-path/rough only. A little awkward but no big deal. Rough is worn flat from carts and really hasn't been watered and is very dry. Some greens roll a bit slow but quicken as the heat comes. Overall good value for early morning tee time at $79.
Mission Pete Dye
Course was in great shape, layout awesome, but 5 hours to play is excessive.
Pete Dye course
A little disappointing because unable to ride on fairways ( overseeding) and greens were slow which affected the grain on putts. Nice layout and friendly staff.
Pete Dye continues to impress
This course and facility embodies what is amateur golfers crave: great course, excellent staff and a superb conditions. Price point is bang on as well. GPS and cart staff all Working fine. Loved playing and have played this course about 20-30 tones over the past 20 years. If you haven’t tried it.....do so. And.....the lakes aren’t “dyed” (no pun intended) so you can look for your ball and grab some Of mine while you’re at it!
Pete Dye course
Just 1 week after opening for overseeding, had a great time, greens were a bit slow but that’s to be expected
