Just OK
The greens are in good shape if slow. The tee boxes and some Fairways are pretty beat up. And the sand traps aren’t consistent or well taken care of. Green fees are lower than most of the other overpriced Florida courses at this time of year. And that’s the saving grace of Tatum Ridge. still somewhat inflated from a value standpoint, but not as bad as some others.
Fairways without grass.
Since last year course was really good. Fairways green sand traps/ bunkers need to have sand added NOW. Need to rope off areas without grass on multiple fairways. You need to complement the course lay out with fairways and sand trap aesthetics.
Your Starter John is rude
I have played Tatum Ridge in the past and have always enjoyed my round but today was a different story. We booked a 10:45 tee time. At that time the 1st tee box was open so we approached to tee off. The starter John, comes flying out and tells us we got pushed back to 10:58 and for us to wait in the area he designated for us like we were in elementary school and then sarcastically calls me "Sport" and that he will tell me when to go. He then starts us on 10th hole so when we made the turn we had a group jump right in front of us. John starts giving me lip again when I question him. He says "if we don't play his way we will never play there again". What John didn't realize was that we are Florida residents not part-timers. In another month Tatum Ridge will be begging us to come back and play. We decide where we play and where we don't. Because of John, Tatum Ridge is now off our list. Good job "Sport"
Very bad shape not worth the price it takes to play it.
Greens are true
Good course however, Golfnow and or pope golf make it miserable to cancel a tee time. After following instructions to the letter for canceling a tee time you will still get charged unless you follow up with a phone call to some overseas call center. Inexcusable.
Fun course but challenging
Greens were hard. Fun time, although some waiting. Good course for the money.
Tatum Ridge
The greens were in great shape. - green and firm.
Most of the fairways were green providing good lies.
The course is in poor condition. Although there appears to be sponsors on each tee, whatever they are paying to have their names at each tee is not going to improvements.
Improving!!
In my 40+ years in Sarasota, I logged more rounds on Tatum than any other track. Unfortunately, it fell on hard times and went down the tubes. I hadn’t played it in quite a few years, but we thought we’d give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised as the course seems to be turning around (new ownership??) and it was in pretty good shape. The greens were FLAWLESS!! However, they were slow as they were in need of cutting and rolling. Fairways were okay… a bit thin, and bare in some areas. Tee boxes were mixed… some lush and too many beat up and just dirt. As I never found them, the traps seemed decent. All in all, Tatum seems to be on the upswing. We’ll add it to our rota of courses we play.
Fairways and greens
The greens are in great shape, but the fairways need a little work. Great course layout. For the money you can't beat it, very enjoyable to play. I got through the round in 2 hours and 25 minutes, 2 of us "T" ed off at 7:20.
