This course has beautiful views
Courselves was in excellent condition and pace of play was excellent. The views are worth the trip.
Enjoy this course.
It's a little bumpy at first but they keep the course in great condition. Challenging and beautiful. Will definitely play again.
High Altitude Golf
Loved this course. The scenery was a delight. Greens were in great condition and challenging. Will play this again!
Mountain course
Fairway in good shape the rough was hard to find balls....greens in god shape and fairly fast
Great day on the links!
This was my first time playing the course. Friendly staff, great course conditions and tremendous views!
Amazing views
Course was very well maintained and the views were amazing. Play was very slow as they had a tournament finishing up in front of us. Didn't get to finish the round due to time restraints. Will definitely go back and play it again.
Loved playing at Grand Lake GC
Grand Lake GC is fun 18 hole course. Some holes are pretty wide open and most holes you won't lose your golf ball. Some holes are more interesting than others but all in all, I really loved playing lthe course. Great value...
Solid mountain golf pick in Colorado
It's a 1964 Dick Phelps design, so if you're expecting a bunch of "wow" holes other than the mountain scenery, you might be disappointed. But I found this to be a solid, straightforward course that requires accuracy and a good short game. Though it's only 6,500 yards or so from the tips, it will test every part of your game and is most enjoyable.. Of course playing this in the summertime at almost 9,000 feet certainly adds to experience for those of us coming from the hot South.
Great conditions, super greens, friendly staff!
Every green was immaculate, fairways, tee boxes all exceptional. The staff were very accommodating. Staff greeted us at our car and brought the cart to us there! It wasn't crowded so maybe this was the exception. Beautiful locale as well. Scenic throughout. Of course it is, it's in the Rockies!
Great views from the course
Though storms and rain through the first few holes, the weather cleared and the rest of the round was great. We did not have to worry about our pace as there were very few golfers on the course until the weather cleared. Loved the views and the elevation changes through the course.
$50?!?!?!
$50 for this course is a JOKE!!! I would have felt ripped off paying $15. Fairways are awful, tee boxes awful, the staff is rude, the carts are dirty and give you whiplash, no concessions. Whoever called it a hidden gem must have not played it in a while. It has gone way down hill!!! I would suggest playing somewhere else.
Rained Out!
Nice course, but only played five holes due to weather
Why not leave a rating on Mother Nature's website if she kept you from playing more than 5 holes? Not sure how the course deserves 2 stars for that.
Grand Lake G.C. is Grand indeed!
Loved it. Had perfect weather and the views are wonderful. Course was in great shape, especially for late August.
Grand Lake Average
Nice place to play, nice people but not worth $86 on Friday or any day.
Can't beat the mountain vistas!
Beautiful setting and challenging course. This was the first time playing this course. As a relatively new player, the course was challenging with the elevation changes but doable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Hope to return soon.
The layout is very good
The course has a good layout and is forgiving for an average player like myself, greens were much slower than practice green.
You can't beat the views !!
I have been playing this course for over 30 years. It never gets old. The views are beyond description !
Great Experience
Yes, its a muni course and greens are slow, but it is a very nice layout (back 9 in particular) with 3 of the most memorable holes around (10, 11, and 18). 8 and 9 are the best holes on the front.
Course has the most uphill approaches to greens I've seen in a long time and some drainage problems (#9 fairway).
Long grass areas are brutal- keep it in the fairway, hit 3 woods off the tee, course is not long and it won't hurt you.
Greens have a lot of space around them so missing them on your approach allows for recovery chips and pars.
I don't miss the trees due to pine beetle.
A nice touch is the scorecard with a short description and advice for every hole.
Very enjoyable place- will be back.
I am not sure how this review can be written on the day played 2/25/17. The course has been closed for several months because in is covered with snow. They may have the wrong course.
