Lakeland Golf Club
About
Lakeland Golf Club originally opened in 1964 and in 2002 it was expanded to an 18-hole championship course. Barry Serafin reworked the traditional design of the original layout into a challenging course that is still playable for a range of skill levels. The five diverse sets of tees make it even more accommodating. Seasoned players will find the championship tees to be a formidable test but the gold tees are tame enough for beginners. Its versatility makes the golf course an excellent venue for tournaments and outings. The course can be tight in some spots, requiring a fair amount of accuracy. Lakeland Golf Club's fairways are generous and seemingly tame but they are bordered by strategically positioned bunkers. There are also meandering streams and a few lakes that come into play on a few holes.

a secluded gem
My first time out this season for this course. The fairway grass was a little long and the greens were slow, but the previous week had some showers and heat to encourage grass growth. Pace of play was excellent, a foursome let me through and I finished in 3:15. A nice variety of holes, with some elevation changes and enough water to keep things interesting. The golf shop is always well stocked with decent food and drink choices, and the staff is very welcoming and personable. It was a great value with Hot Deal and a monthly coupon code for Golfpass. Their regular rates are very reasonable as well.
Very wet that day from heavy rain the days before.
Greens and fairways were in good shape despite all the rain that happened. I like this courses layout. Anna the lady who checked us in is always friendly, and let us know how to play during the wet conditions of the course that day.
Great course, inconsistent greens
Love the course, pace of play was great. Greens were slow and bumpy though, that's the only nitpick. Otherwise a 5/5..
Stay far away if you are coming in from out of town.
So... when arriving to the course, this super rude front desk employee informed us we could only play 9 holes. Okay, let me give you a back story, I drove an hour and 10 minutes to play this course. She proceeded to argue because I argued the fact that she couldn't understand WHY I was angry when you booked us with an outing and then also adding insult to injury, my driving distance to the course. The lady was very argumentative as well as aggressive. I would never travel to this course ever again. She acted like she was doing us a favor by letting us play for free, however its not a gift when I never was able to finish my round. You should hire people who understand these things as well as train people on how yo read a tee sheet.
If one drop of money came out of my wallet, I would have called the BBB. I will say this though, I thought the state department stated that large gathering couldn't occur, the outing should have never happened.
golfnow screw up
I got there, The lady had no record of my reservation. I paid another $35. to play. So I paid Golf now and Lakeland golf course. Again I am not happy with Golfnow. I have not been able to get in contact with Golfnow
Bad
Can’t even putt on the greens so so slow, fairways and rough are the same grass one is just cut shorter. Do not waste your time.
Golf Now Not Honored
Booked golf here last night for a 3-some. Payed the $7.46 booking fee online. Got to course, the rude old lady acknowledged the confirmation but did not honor the price. Said I was a fool for booking with Golf Now. So 3 of us paid full price AND I paid the booking fee with no benefit. Golf Now should not include them in their program. We will never play there again as there are too many nicer courses nearby.
I will never play this course again. I have played here many times but then my last round I had one hole left to play. The owner comes out on the course after my party teed off to tell us to get off the course. She claims she told us when we checked in that we had to be off by 7:30. The fact is she was not the one who checked us in and the sign at the front desk said everyone had to be off at 8:00 pm. The time was 7:32 and we told her we would be done in 10 minutes and she said “no pick up your ball and leave” as we were leaving, knowing we were unhappy. she said well you could have finished. Terrible experience and will never return.
