excellent layout
I have played here many times over the years and always enjoy this beautiful , off the beaten track layout and challenge. Course in great shape. Greens excellent. Will continue to go back.
Rain check.
My only problem is I only got to play 4 holes. Bad rain came and was so bad that the foam they placed in the holes was floating! Thats how much it rained. It rained as I got to the 5th hole. I waited about a half hour, There was water on the green so i decided not to play. The staff at the clubhouse only gave me a nine hole raincheck. I thought that was a poor way to do someone who payed for 18 holes. But I cant complain about the course. Ive played it many times and its always been fun. I like the isolation and nature that surrounds it.
Always one of my favorites now even better
Always was a great layout, holes very interesting, some very challengiing with easier ones sprinkled in here and there, Wayward tee shots the main hazard here. Played this course since it opened almost 30 years ago. The new management team has turned what used to be a hit or miss course condition wise into one of the nicest, most enjoyable courses in the area, Green fees more than reasonable , much better than some of the more upscale courses in the area with better playing conditions.
Best value for the price in Brevard county
The new management has done wonders for this fantastic golf course. It always has been a super layout but now the course maintainence/condition is the best I’ve seen it during the six years I’ve played here.
Great course
They keep this course in country club shape. Fantastic staff very friendly and helpful
Huge improvements in the past year
Today I played the course for the first time in about a year and all I can say is "Wow"! I had played the course on and off for the past 25 years and weekly during the last 10 years or so. I stopped playing last year when it's condition started to go downhill and started playing other local courses. Well, this is not the old Habitat. In my opinion, the new management has turned The Habitat into the best conditioned public course in the area. The fairways are some of the best I've played in a long time, the rough was real golf course rough (not just weeds) and the greens were in great shape in spite of some aeration holes (reason for the $21 fee). Will definitely start playing it on a regular basis again.
Great course
The course’s tee boxes were be redone but the course was great shape. Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Excellent course, highly recommended.
Changes happening at Habitat
New Management is now in charge and one of there first acts is to do away with Golf Now. Big mistake in my mind. Course condition are supposed to improve bur I probably wont be there to see them!
Too far too drive for this average course
Arrived 45 minutes before tee time and even though there was NOBODY going off we couldn't check in for another 15 minutes.. Some rule they have with online tee times.. So we bought a medium bucket of balls for $9 ( little pricey) and had to walk back to the parking lot because we couldn't get a cart yet.. Teed off 10 minutes early but by then we had a 2 some behind us.. AGGRAVATING to say the least.. A lot of the tee boxes need leveling and the greens were slow.. the layout is nice and challenging .. there were a couple of blind holes , especially 18.. Glad we played when we did.. Had to rush to finish 18 because of the storm.. For us it was not worth the 70 minute drive!
Habitat Golf
Greens and fairways in good condition. Bunkers understandably show the effect of all the rain. The only real complaint is that the tee boxes need to be maintained better to make sure you have a level area to tee off from.
Very few players today. Guess everyone thought it would rain and it did. But have played this course many times and it's always in good shape.
Overall good. not great experience. Course staff very friendly. Picturesque setting. Nice layout. Challenging course. Most tee boxes were not in good shape. Greens were inconsistent - some good, some very bumpy. They need to be rolled.
Still Hard to Challenge the Champ!
I still feel that Habitat is one of the top 2 courses in Brevard County, if not the best! You need to play it to recognize the differences it presents compared to other courses . Always in great shape no matter who actually owns it. Not an abundance of water but where there is, especially 18, it presents some challenge. Take it from someone who travels an hour or 2 for a good course, this one is worth the trip if you've never played it. Once that occurs, I'm pretty confident you'll be ready for a return trip.
greens and all in good shape
course overall in very good shape especially the greens. all the staff were very personable and helpful
Could use a roller
Course conditions were as expected with air rating the greens but I was surprised to find out habitate doesn’t own a roller to roll the greens it would help greatly in conditioning the greens it should be something you should purchase in the future still even with all the air rating it is still great playing here
current course conditions
Somehow Golf Now and sponsored courses need to communicate current conditions. The greens were plugged and sanded recently but rain had washed out most of the sand.
Fun course, lots of challenges
Need to hit your target, very nice layout, lots of wildlife.
Fun
Great time, played with the chance of rain, lucky for us it didn’t.
