Great setting Photo submitted by covers05 on 04/14/2013
Had a blast
Was let go on the first tee and later on ten. Joined a 3 some on 13 and had a blast. Was extremely windy but the course was in great shape.
Winter Time Greens
Enjoyed round, due to winter the greens wasn't in the best shape but layout and staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely plan on going for another round during the spring-summer.
Wet but Good
We went and played an actual golf course after playing cheap 9holes for awhile. Unfortunately it rained the day before and kind of ruined things. All the sand bunkers were either rock solid or full of water. Only complaint. Overall the course was beautiful and played really nice. Definitely want to go back again without the rain
Amazing course!
Course is in great shape! Always have a great experience especially when Katie is working. She always takes such good care of us! 10/10 recommend this course
Back Open
Always a great place to play. New greens are nice.
Back Open
Copper Mill has been closed for a while as they were redoing their greens. I found the greens smooth and true for being so new. The course is dry overall because of the lack of rain, but still in good shape.
Horrible
Should have closed before green reconstruction. Started the process and are still booking tee times with sand pits as “greens”.
Got Bad, getting Worse
Over sanded, crab grass infested greens. They will still hold an approach shot, but don't expect a lot of true rolling putting.
Slow play goes unchecked because there's no marshall. Can't remember when there last was one.
And now.. a first for here.. TWO carts with carts with dead batteries in one 18 hole day.
I don't know when or if I'll be back, and I play this 12-15 times each year.
Just utter disappointment.
..the staff that was present was very nice though.. so there's that.
I would give it a 4 star rating if there was a practice area or driving range.
The greens are very ruff and some need to be cut.. 55$ is too much for the condition of the course
Greens in terrible shape
Play this course about twice per year and it's not good every time I go. Greens were in terrible shape weeds growing, black spots, sand spots, tee boxes most in bad shape some have no grass just sand. I would be really angry if I paid $40 or more to play this course.
Great layout with challenging holes
I love playing Copper Mill! The course has a great layout with 3 par 3's, 3 par 4's, and 3 par 5's on each side. It is challenging with well-placed hazards but not so challenging as to be discouraging. Course is usually in great shape though it can have problems with drainage and the tees and greens can be a little overworn.
Winter, don’t bother
Typical winter burn, greens patchy and sanded. Many fairways torn up as well. Would wait until spring to play again.
Different Review
The course I really like some challenging holes….but unfortunately my review is for something else I don’t claim to be a pro I love the game and think everyone should give the game a try but if you can’t break 100 you do not need to be taking 2 min pre shot routines before every shot I watch these guys hit a tee ball (after 2 min pre shot routine) hit it 30 yrs pull another ball out take another 2 mins then shank it then was playing both balls till I said something….. they keep leaving before I would get there so I couldn’t talk to em mind you it’s 3:30. It gets dark around 5 and we are on #12 should have been plenty of time to finish but I’m waiting….I’m trying to be respectful so I called the Marshall twice ( including at the turn) who did nothing…finally fed up I pull up on them to see what’s taking so long cause I’m losing daylight and it’s b/c they are letting their girlfriends play now and giving lessons on every shot now I’m behind 4 needless to say by the time I got by it was dark and for the 2nd round in a row I didn’t finish a great round b/c of people who act like it’s there golf course…I got scolded once when I first starting playing for bad etiquette (throwing clubs) so I made sure that I learned the etiquette of this great game…..I wish people would go back study the etiquette of this game stay on the green till everybody putts out don’t walk off don’t swing ur clubs and talking while someone teeing off be mindful of the group behind you if ur a full hole behind the group in front of you and the group behind you is right up on you let them through and after the round take ur hat off shake hands with ur playing partners have some respect for this wonderful game we play and for the people who use good etiquette Thank you keep it up…………I will be joining a country club soon…..sorry for the rant but it’s long overdue
