Golf Advisor: Top 25 Most Improved U.S. Golf Courses (2015 #3)
Reviews
Fun and quick
Excellent 18 holes you can play in about 2 1/2 hrs. Great workout for your shorter clubs. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Best bang for the buck
Played 2 days in a row. For a shorter coarse they had some long par 4s very nice.
Golf review
A very short course in reasonable condition, not the strongest golf challenge, but, good for a quick game, concentrating on short game
Deer Creek
I really enjoy and like it a lot playing in this course I highly recommended it
Last round of golf for this year
Have difficulty walking because I need a hip replacement so my wife and I played the 18 holes with a cart. There was nobody ahead or behind us so we had a very relaxed round. The weather was perfect for our last round of golf before heading north. The course is in pretty good shape for this time of year as a lot of the courses are getting burnt off and are loosing there greens. Will probably return next year as it is close to where we stay. There is no 19th hole.
Local Course
Course was in fair condition. No rough, sandy. Greens were fast and undulating.
bang for you buck
we are canadians so happy to be able to golf in the winter - we enjoy deer creek because it is close to our rental home and affordable
"Gem" in Davenport
We were looking for an executive course to play and stumbled on this RV course
very close to where we were staying! Was informed that the residents of the community got together and purchased it from prior owner who had let the course run
"a muck". But... to our surprise the course wasn't bad and will continually improve I'm sure. Very reasonable and look forward to next year to play it again!!
Keep up the good 'restore' work!... it will pay off!
Highly recommend trying this course!
Car from ny
Excellent course I am only 2 year at golf but this was an excellent maintained course with challenges for short and long holes
Mediocre course, residents horrible
The course is well maintained, the Pro shop staff friendly. The course is mediocre compared to surrounding courses. They did have facilities at the turn as far as restrooms, but don't pass that up as they have removed the "relief" station on the back nine. After some interactions with residents on the course who don't golf (strange but true) they don't much like the golfers or the course being there. They have closed the restaurant, snack bar, and bar over 2 yrs ago and seem to not have a plan to re-open. So bring the coolers and snacks, it's like a picnic with golf. The range is sufficient and the practice green well maintained. Getting in to the course, "open to the public," requires a stop at the "guard shack" which is being removed as well for automated gates only. This will require now a stop in the office to be let in for golf.
Again, beware of most of the residents there, they don't want you to be there and careless if you are a good golfer or duffer, they make mention of how a good golfer could keep it in bounds, which is not much considering in most places it's the fairway or the houses.
graet Day!
Great course for couples fair with a good mix of shots! Excellent staff! 18 holes in less than 3 hours!
Hidden challenge course
We found this.and decided to give it a try there was a special for $10.00 each. The greens were very challenging lots of break to them and they were in very good shape. The people working at the course we're very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our experience and highly recommend it for a nice round of golf. ,

Nice little course for a quick round to work on your short game. The course is short but the greens were challenging.
Good experience for an average golfer.
I understand that the course is under new management and they appear to be working on improving the greens especially. I found the grass on the greens to be spotty...but they were fast and there was evidence of improvements being made. Overall, the course is decent value and great for the average golfer.
we enjoyed the course
The course is in much better condition than it was 2-3 years ago. It's a challenging course. We enjoyed golfing with the two gentlemen, we were teamed up with. We will defiantly play at Deer Creek again. Job well done, with the improvements, on the course.
Nice course , good value
We did the course on a HotDeal and although it was busy the course moved OK . Great short course with some small Par 3s in the middle . But the traps and water guard them .
Welcomed Round
On vacation from a Detroit winter and was very pleased I selected this coarse. Staff was helpful as I got lost finding their location as was the ranger and other staff member's. One word that comes to mind is (PROFESSIONAL). The cart appeared to be new and well maintained which was noted by my ride along (non-playing) significant other. The Par (3,s) which was the majority of the holes were challenging enough for my 3 years of experience, and the courses balance of holes seemed to keep the group I was teamed up with very interested as we played the whole 19. One wish I had was that the courses' snack shop was opened when we made the turn as I could have enjoyed a sandwich. This coarse is definitely on my radar as I will be returning next year with hopefully a few of my friend's. The coarse is with out a doubt in all of our city employee's budget. MUCH THANKS
Executive Course
I was unaware that when I booked this course that it was an executive course intertwined around an RV and mobile/modular home park. Surprisingly, the course was not that bad. It had some character and some tough holes. It is very tight which doesn't sit well with my game. The only reason I wouldn't recommend it to my friends is because they don't like the small executive courses.
Super layout
Good set up lots of par threes and some long par fours.
Will be bAck to play it again soon
Only negative I would say is the first cut could be a little shorter and it would show the golf ball on approach, I spent a lot of TIME SEARCHING up and down.
Great for Practice
That was the first time I played in Deer Creek. I was impressed by the staff and the excellent condition of their power carts. They were not new, but they looked like new. The green was not as poor as some golfers had commented here. My wife and I completed the course in three hours. When the two-some behind us was not on our heel, we replayed a hole. So it worked out great. We will most likely return to Deer Creek.
