Reviews
Good value
One problem.
Shortage of carts, you may have to wait an hour.
Nice short course, good value.

My wife and me have been playing this coarse for the past 8winters and two years ago it was so bad it was unplayable ,then the homeowners took control and it's amazing how well it is in such a short time, shortly by the looks of it will be perfect. Please keep hold of the green keeper you have.! It's so busy the receptionist lady gave me her own buggy as there's now a shortage of carts, that's what I call kindness at its best and I can't thank her enough and this club deserves to be successful. Thank you jim and jean
Work on your short game.
It was my first time playing here and I was pleasantly surprised. The course is fun and there were enough challenges that kept me guessing. The greens were in good condition.
New owners are great
course was better than expected. more distance than most executive courses. first two greens were a little rough but the rest were mint. the new owners are super friendly and you can see the care and effort they are putting in. IGNORE any older reviews, they no longer apply.
Nice exec type course
Fairways are narrow, challenging but enjoyable. Nice staff
Best condition
We have played there many times in last 6 years and it's in the best condition it's ever been. Staff is friendlier!
Better Every Day
The course is greatly improved over where it was this time last year. A few greens still need some more time to come back to what they were but overall the course is in very good condition. Give this course 1-2 more years and it will be tough to get a tee time.
NOW RESIDENT OWNED MUCH IMPROVED
Nothing like it was in 2013-2014 season. Course was purchased by residents who are working diligently to bring it up to standards. Both fairways and greens show the change.
Bottom line..a fun executive course with a few fours mixed in with mostly par 3s.GOLFNOW's deal made it a great bargin.
Give it time
Given time, I think this executive course could become a good one. The day I played, half the greens were in poor shape and the fairways were rather bare in places. But, a good test of your short game and a good value for the cost.
APPRECIABLE IMPROVEMENTS PRODUCED
Since the last time we played (4 days ago) we have seen substantial improvements in the putting surface of the greens. Sharp equipment, rolling & top-dressing really helps. Based on the improvements we have seen today, this course could be one to watch in the near future as being a top rated executive course. Great greens bring revenue. Keep pushing and make it happen.
This course needs attention
All greens are bumpy with some black algae spots showing. There is not a good putting surface on any of the greens. Signal grass and spurge abound on some greens. Some have goose grass still growing after 5 months of spraying. I will not recommend this golf course to anyone until the conditions improve substantially. pictures to follow soon..
Short, narrow
executive course. lotsa par 3s. Think course under new management. can see they're trying to improve course that has been pretty much let go. Short game my weakness so good place for me to practice..
Great for first time golfer
Played this course with my wife. We are still learning the game but gave us an opportunity to get out and actually hit some balls on a actual course instead of driving range mats. Course was not that crowded. Mgmt told us the course had not been maintained by previous owner. We were fine with that. Happy we didn't have to worry about the weekend and vacation pros breathing down our neck b/c we were taking too long. You have to start somewhere. Great place for beginners.
Much Improvement Needed !
The Pro Shop staff honestly informed me that course conditions were poor, especially the greens. The new management is working to restore the course to a better condition. The staff, including grounds keepers, were very friendly and helpful. With much improved course conditions, this could be a fun executive course offering players a memorable experience.
Price is low ,needs wor
Greens are poor, need work ,staff are accommodating , friendly, price was great and course was not overly busy. I would play it again, and enjoy the course.
Got what I paid for
I was on vacation with my family and decided to play a local round of golf with my son, I found this coarse on Golfnow and decided to book it... I found out that I got what I paid for.... This coarse was in absolutely horrible condition... I wouldn't play this coarse again if they paid "Me"..... forget paying them. Very disappointed... that "Golf Now" would be affiliated with such a "Extremely poorly maintened coarse.
!!! :-( "OMG" !!!
BEGINNERS: IN CASE YOU DON'T WANT TO READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW...THERE ARE GREAT 9/18 hole- WALKING, BEGINNER and FAMILY FRIENDLY courses within a few miles. GolfNow has several nearby tracks that are available for an excellent rate! Well maintained by professional management companies with a real golf course feel and great practice areas.
My problem started with the booking icon. NO mention of greens aerification and terrible overall condition and maintenance ISSUES.
When I see "come see our maintenance improvements", I expect roped off "G.U.R.", fresh sod and watering. Not fungus and mud unplayable greens.
My rating for staff friendliness is based almost entirely on the LACK of MENTION that the greens were being "brought back" from the previous management/ownership. I have NEVER been put on a golf course in this condition without warning and usually an offer of a refund, "if not satisfied within a few holes". These folks sent my threesome out without a hint of what lay ahead. I am sure there were some decent greens or greens where they had the flags at the only grass patch. I admit to a poor memory!
We played in front of a member league/group.
This was not a problem until the 17th hole. We had to wait between 5-10 mins for the maintenance crew to blow some plugs off the green. Before I reached the green and my short approach shot, I noticed a ball in front of me near the green, from the "Member" group behind us. I tried to wait for the obligatory "apology, didn't see you, etc." I DID NOT receive even an acknowledgement of my existence!
A bit later, after the round, I drove my cart to the arrow for "cart returns". I was tersely told, "move that cart", because the members group had started coming in and had their personal carts were getting parked all over the place.
The basic golf course layout was about as expected.
What was unexpected was the nice "lawn jockey" display by 14 green (private owner property).
After the round, I explained to, (begged), the manager and received 3 rain checks good for 1 yr.
Deer Creek is using 'the previous owners", as their standard, but should be using "the current market".
Between the "members" attitude and the basic conditioning, I can't ever see a reason to return.
I was informed that the members own this golf course now. Perhaps that was some of the reason for the glares and disrespect at this place.
Rough Greens
Greens in terrible shape...fairways had little grass...but for $25 bucks...you get 18 holes....not high expectations for that money
Great short course
I am not a fantastic golfer by any means so this course was great. The distance to each green was short so it was less frustrating than a regular course. The pro shop attendant was so friendly and told of the great future ahead for this course. I can't wait to play again!
