Slow Play
Spring Valley has always been one my go to courses in the San Jose area. Its peaceful nestled in the hills with no traffic noise, just a few deer. It has a nice mixture of easy and hard holes with very few bunkers. I played two afternoons in a row recently and left both times before completing my rounds due to pace of play. 3 groups waiting on several tee boxes on the front 9 is no fun. Both rounds would have been 5 1/2 hours to complete.
Enjoyable Playing Envoirnment
I appreciate the staff for thier professional approach from check in to Starter and then then Marshal for the pace of play. Kelly as starter is friendly and makes the Golfing experience at Spring Valley alongwith other staff an enjoyable experience. I will definetely play again. The Pro Shop and Restaurant are very well maintained and serve Hot food with warmth.
Sound value, good conditions.
Got an amazing price today. Greens were in really nice condition and even sand in the bunkers not dirt like sand in other area places.
Great day
This is a great course in my opinion. It’s golfable for guys that aren’t great gofers. I have golfed here several times: I like the layout. The pace was great, out 4 some finished in 4 hours.. t’s good shape, fairways and greens good shape. This course has some very tough greens to read and play. I didn’t have my best day, but it was still a great day with 3 friends.
Shop and grill personnel great, starter great.
Great day overall
It was a very quiet and peacful Sunday. Green was not the best, but it was okay, and pace of play was great!
Great Value
I've played here several times in the past month. Pace of play was fast on weekday afternoons, slow on the one weekend round I played (5 hours).
Fairways are dry and hard, so long rollout on drives (lost a few balls that way). Greens in good condition, a little slow but roll pretty true.
Layout is fun. Couple of blind tee shots (3 and 4?). Several doglegs and trees favor those who can work the ball accurately both ways, otherwise long straight drives will go through some of the fairways.
Staff waa friendly and helpful.
Overall Great
Except for the pace of play it’s a great place to play. Maybe we just ended up with the slowest folks on the course that day.
