White Heron Golf Club
About
White Heron Golf Club (formerly known as Ridgewood Lakes Golf Club) has had many accolades over its history and for good reason. The Ted McAnlis layout is sculptured from lush rolling land and features immaculate playing conditions year round. Water and natural wetlands come into play on 16 of our 18 holes and the resident breeze can significantly change the course from day to day. Yet despite the natural beauty and obvious pedigree of the layout, with four sets of tees the course is still enjoyable for golfers of all levels.

Underwhelmed for the price
Not worth $99 with Southern Dunes right down the street and 10 times the golf course.
Overall conditions were ok at best. Greens had some repair/sod work…and were unbelievably hard. Good, high wedge shots with plenty of spin would trampoline off of the greens and bounce 4-6 feet in the air.
The point I’m making is if you’re going to advertise yourself as a “shot makers” course…your greens have to live up to that and be able to hold shots.
Our group was all low single digit hcp’s and repeatedly felt like good shots wouldn’t hold.
Glad I played it so that I now know…but would be unlikely to return. This is a $50 golf course when in great shape…and there are too many other options that deliver better value and experience
Good Bones but looks like there are a bit of neglect
I had played this course a few years back. And I can't recall the course having issues with upkeep. It feels like the course lacks the funding to properly maintain course condition. I would say tor the money we paid, you can do better elsewhere.. Other places may cost a bit more but you'll get more for your money. Hope management can sink some money into this and not let the course die.
Not worth the $99 rate, should be 60 to $65.. Fairways and tee box in good shape but some greens have clover growing on them although you need to look closer as they are re-covered with some kind of green substance.
My view
Great course but too much water! almost every hole had a water hazard; too much.
Not worth $99.00
Fairways and tee box in good shape, greens have some clover growing (not good). Would be a great course at $60/65$ green fee...
Good value for the money.
The course was in great condition. The layout was good. The only criticism I would have, about this course is, that it is a bit tight and very challenging for a mid to high handicapper. The course has a lot of water and sand hazards. This is not a negative, just a FYI for the weekend golfer.
Very difficult!
With water on every hole and over 100 bunkers this is a shotmakers course. Play from the proper tees for your skill level! Beautiful design and while a challenge, fun to play. They did make the course less by changing the final hole to a short par 4 to add a practice area. Should have put that somewhere else.
Surprised
We had reviews that led us to believe that this was a very good course and value for the dollar. It was not as expected. I have played better courses for a third of what I paid here, but that is another story.
The practice chipping green had been sanded and was not in the best shape, but I did not let that deter me from thinking all was good. When we arrived on the first tee we were met by the starter. He was very friendly and gave us some good words of encouragement. As someone who is familiar with golf courses and course management (and a 8 HC), I was immediately put off when I asked, "What kind of grasses were on the greens and the course?" The answer was "They're sprigged. We sprigged everything." The course itself was not bad, if you had played it before. We were fortunate to be paired with another twosome who was able to give us some pointers on where to hit the ball. There were no signs, layout on the scorecard, or anything to assist you in playing the course. We were told it was a placement course by the starter, but nothing about where to place you shot. The greens were firm, but the biggest problem was pin placement. Every pin on every hole was placed in a position that was ridiculous at best. It was as if we were playing a game where the superintendent had set things up to be as difficult as he possibly could. If there was a slope or a crest to place the pin on, he had done that. One member of our group actually had a ball go up, around the hole and start back to him. Needless to say we will not return to this course. It would have been much more pleasant if the set up had been respectful, but a high handicap golfer would have a long, unhappy day here.
Hopefully the next group will have a better day. Good luck and Fairways, Greens, and Short Birdie Putts.
Old course but new
We used to play this course when it was under a different name and the nines were reversed. We liked it before and we still liked it now but it is in much better shape. We found it just a bit too pricey to play once a week but we will be back again before we head north(NJ) just play later in the day.
Fezman NB
Nice course and layout. Greens were good for most part fairway’s were wet in spots but could still drive cart anywhere. Don’t expect to find it like the high end courses but good for hackers like me. Definitely recommend it and will play again
Good Value
White Heron is a decent course that will test your skills from white tees at 6200 yards. Water and bunkers come into play often. Signage of holes could be improved. The day I played the course switched front and back nines but didnt change the signage which caused confusion considering starter didnt advise of change. Overall good value at $55 with cart.
Great course outside of the high priced Orlando ones
This is a fun little course, great small z cozy clubhouse, one of the best lineup of demo clubs I have ever seen for a great price, very good irons, wedges, so much more than the normal old rentals. The pro is a great guy, not an expensive place, course winds ariund and can get tricky for sure., worth the trip down I-5 for a round
Great Course!
One of the better courses in Central Florida - well maintained and friendly staff.

Great layout.
A very good day overall. The bag drop has a very friendly staff and the check in process was smooth. Nice driving range, short range and putting facilities.
The course is little challenging. I will play here again when in FLA
