Decent for the price if your in the area.
Staff was super friendly. The greens were the slowest I’ve ever played and the fairways were just ok and overall a somewhat boring flat layout. It wasn’t worth the 30+ mile drive for me.
Easy to read golf course.
As a first time to this course, I found the layout very accepting to my way of playing golf. Fairways were in superb condition .
Tanglewood Comments
Played with my wife and a friend and found the course to be in good shape and looking forward to returning
They do not honor golf now reservations or pricing
Booked through golfnow, when I showed up they had someone else in my time slot and they would not honor the pricing that a reserved from golf now even though I had the reservation confirmation. They also moved me back an hour from my reserved tee time
Beautiful course
This course is wonderful. Can't wait for july so that my uncles, cousins ,friends and father can play this course
Great pLace to play
I enjoy playing here. Very friendly and the beverage cart is awesome.
Verticut Greens
Typical Tanglewood conditions except the greens have been verticut - very bouncy and inconsistent.
Course is a great place to play
Course was nice but one of the staff was kind of pushy. I had my son who just started to play and is getting the hang of it but is slower. There was not anyone behind us for at least 3 holes. Will play here again.
Slow play and sprinklers
The greens were quite slow but rolled fairly well. It was a challenging outing due to gusty winds. We followed an extremely slow foursome the entire round. We normally play in 3:30 but our round dragged out to 4:40 behind the foursome who never once offered us to play through. To finish the round the sprinklers kicked up on the #17 green as we were putting and they were also in full force on the #18 green, all around 2:30pm. Why?! No maintenance crew around monitoring so I'm not sure what the issue was, but we also noticed four other sprinkler heads across the course that were flowing and flooding the area, although not spraying about. The day turned out to be average at best, and fairly poor even by Tanglewood expectations. It was certainly not worth the $33+ regular rate. Looking forward to playing again next month and hoping the course has corrected the slow play and sprinkler issues.
Starting to green up.
Still winter conditions, making for tight lies. Greens in better shape than many comparable local courses.
ok
this was in Feb, so most of the grass was dormant, large sandy areas where grass was not growing, greens were slow but ok, for the price was a good deal, would play again
Great facility - course needs water and care
I know February is not prime grass season, but this course was drier than normal and needed attention. The facility and maintenance thereof was excellent. People we encountered were helpful and friendly.
It looked as if there were no greenskeeper, though.
Frigid weather - open course
Temps were around 40° and breezy so we had the course practically to ourselves; I saw only two other groups the entire round. The tees and fairways are in good condition. The greens are in need of mowing; they had grown enough to where the ball was influenced more by the grain rather than the break. This made putting frustrating. However, it was well worth the $20 Hot Deals tee time. Our twosome zoomed through the course as it was practically empty. The lady in the pro shop was extremely nice, and the new complimentary course books are a nice gesture and added bonus.
I don’t know where to starr
I checked in and was told “irons only off the tee today we’ve got them pushed way up! No idea what that was about tees were certainly not “pushed up” I was allowed to go out before my time and was great full, headed to the first tee (the first try) and was told hey you got wait for our mens group ok no problem let them pass, walk to the tee again and a guy with a pull cart walks out into the fairway drops a ball and proceeds to play. The 3rd or 4th attempt I get my ball tees up and the starter says “hey you’re supposed to start on #3!” I’m really aggravated by now, off I go to three, by the 5th I caught a 3 some and had to follow thier slow play through the next 13 holes, no marshal around nothing. I realize there was a storm come through and from a maintenance standpoint it was great. Don’t think I would go back.
