Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 06/2019.
The highlight of this Karl Litton course is the three-story Southern plantation-style mansion that serves as the clubhouse. Devlin Von Hagge originally designed it.
The course has been voted as a Top 100 women-friendly course in the U.S.
The course is known for its excellent condition of the fast greens and contoured fairways. Palm trees add a tropical feel to this target-oriented course.

Nice folks - Average Course
Like a old time gas station, driving up to the bag drop triggers and an air-hose to alert the personnel to get your bags. Friendly personnel there and in the snack shop was the round's highlight. Course is only in average shape, but plenty of wildlife - iguanas, ducks with baby chicks, and great old cypress trees. Not many people out on Saturday afternoon, and quick pace of play is most important feature for me.
Needs work
Played this course many times over the years. Was disappointed when I heard it was closing but when it reopened I was excited. And that was the end of my excitement. Fairways were full of weeds and fire ant piles. Greens need lots of work. If you are looking for a cheap round with a challenging course that has seen better days then this is your place.
Running out of time
Take your swing at Carolina as soon as possible. My friend and I were told the course is going under on July 8. That likely explains the so-so conditions on the greens. There are some nice holes on the course but maintenance isn't a priority right now.
course will not be around for long
I have not played here for over 10 years. Every part of the course has been neglected. I would guess that this will be one of the next South Florida courses to close and be sold to build homes.
WHAT A DUMP (about to close)
The layout of the course is nice. Challenging holes and greens......thats where the compliments end.
This place is a dump. Tee boxes are garbage. Fairways are garbage. Greens barely have any grass on them.
The place is being sold to a developer and management doesn't put a dime into the course.
I wouldn't go back even if the round was for free.....thats what bad shape it is in.
Please......dont look at the price and think its a good deal. The course is a dump and youll regret wasting your time.
How a "hot deal" on GolfNow is $25 is mind boggling. This place should be $2 max for a round.
No wait now I know why
It was my second time playing the course
Now i know why I didn’t remember but I have to say if they can only get the greens in Order the track would be nice
Soft greens so the ball stick
But putting was horrible
Fun at Carolina Club
Great pricing through golf now for a course that was fun to play. For a course that is supposedly closing in a year don't miss out on playing this one. Entire course in good shape. It is certainly kept well. Staff was friendly. Not a course for a beginner. All holes are challenging and the layout is awesome. I highly recommend it. Looking forward to playing it again and hopefully play it better now knowing what to expect.
Disappointed in course
We played Carolina two years ago and loved the course and conditions. This year I have to say we where disappointed, greens where in rough condition, patchy and we even saw grubs.
Horrible
Horrible experience. Rude staff, decided to quit due to pace of play. You have to pay for your round through bullet proof glass. The attendant wouldn’t let us pay for our 2:04 PM tee time until exactly 2 PM when the rate we arranged for was available.
Lots of water
A fairly difficult course as water is in play on most holes. Depending on weather the wind is blowing it can become very difficult. Having played this course before I was disappointed in the condition of the greens. The snack bar at the turn is well-stocked and the upstairs bar has a great veranda overlooking the course. I found it cheesy having to pay for a cup of ice and tap water! Would definitely recommend depending on the price.
Disappointed in the condition of the course
We played this course quite a few years ago & we looked forward to playing it. The course was in terrible shape from what we expected. The course has great holes & in the past we always loved playing here. When we were done we found out that they are selling the property so that explains why they are not working on the course.
Average to poor conditions but still a good value
Conditions are pretty poor. Greens are in rough shape and fairways are fairly spotty as well. Makes sense that this is a sub $50 weekend course, but I would expect it to be in better condition. Much worse than it was last year at this time. I will say, however, it is very much playable and a good value. Very accommodating staff and nice facilities. Hopefully conditions change for the better heading into the non-Canadian season.
Won't Play Here Again
My group travels to SOFLA once a year since 2001 and we always booked this course. It is now so beat and neglected that the current ownership is not improving or maintaining it. It's clearly on it's deathbed - and it's a shame.
Whew!
This course has seen better days! Didn’t seem that it was that long ago that this was one of the better courses to play in Broward County. Can’t be complimentary at all regarding the fairways and greens. No issues with the tee boxes.
Not much money.
It's cheap to play but the course conditions were sub par. Very friendly staff and great clubhouse.
every course is for sale when investors throw outrageous amounts of cash at the owners. golf in broward county will inevitably be gone, they just cant compete with pbcgolf and their courses that have no homes on them. j&d could turn this course around, even if they were to sell, it would take years for the county to re-zone this land
Look it up - the owners have put this up for sale to a developer who is building HOMES.
