Me likely.
Excellent greens, fairways getting better all the time. Easy access from 15 freeway. This course is a great deal for the money.
The Look
The first thing you noticed is how green the course is. I haven't played here in over a year. I stopped playing because I thought the course was in terrible shape. 180 degrees difference is how I found it. Greens are in fantastic shape. Little slow right now. Fairways are beautifully maintained.
the course was pretty open and the greens were in great shape
First time I played the course. Fairly wide open and in pretty good shape. There were bare spots on some of the fairways but that is to be expected with the drought. The greens are in great shape. Could use more drinking water around the course.
Nice Course, accuracy is key
Got a 40 dollar tee time deal for a sat morning so took advantage. Played with a group of 4, and we were behind a threesome so we never had to wait. Nice course, good shape especially for how dry its been. All the fairways have slope towards the freeway so accurate drives are key.
Lost a lot of balls
Good course. Rough was rough and lost a lot of balls. Many sand traps in from of greens. Overall had a good outing, Not many people on the course. Rumor has it they are closing the course, but overall had an enjoyable experience. Not for the beginner.
fun to play again
It has been about 15 years since I've played here. Greens were great, fairways very good, rough tough around the greens. Dry areas but I would expect them not to water areas you should not hit a ball into. Pleasant day.
Fun Course
A lush hilly course that played very challenging. it was a fun course and would definitely play again.
Cart trouble
I had a great time playing here. I signed up as a single on Wednesday around noon. When I arrived I was informed that they had paired me with another single that was ready to tee off. Great! I'm ready to go, let me just sign out a cart.. The guys in the clubhouse tell me that I don't need to sign out a cart because other guy already has one. Ok, are you guys running low on carts today? No, it is their policy to send out single players on a single cart.
This seems strange to me, considering that there's only a few groups out. The older gentleman that I was paired with was a nice guy, although he thought it was strange that I started strapping my bag to his cart. I explained to him the policy, he seemed dubious. Awkward.
The round was good. The grounds were looking great, and freshly mowed. I guess I'm wondering if I'm wrong for thinking I should have gotten my own cart, or if anyone else would have spoken up and told them that their policy is kinda lame?
great value
Camel Highlands is the best course I've played for the money.
not bad
The greens were a little on the slow wet side, some of the tee boxes have some wild grass growing in them, but other wise the course was in good condition. Got out a little before tee time, staff friendly, and club in great condition.
Bang for buck
Played course on Friday afternoon. Conditions on fairways were ok considering the limited watering. I understand that the course is closing at the end of the year due to lack of players. That's unfortunate. However the underpar coupon for $46 x 2 players was a great bargain. You can still find deals for $24 on weekdays. The pace of play can be tricky but we were lucky to play right after the am crowd and before the twilight players.
Great Value!
Played here with the Hot Deal for $17. No one was on the course. Fairways and greens were in good condition. No complaints!
Boring
Course in ok shape. Greens very good. Two problems. The foursomes on the course were oblivious and/or brain dead. I finally gave up on them and went around only to find two holes later another foursome equally oblivious. Not that it matters but course routing confusing. #2 and biggest problem is course is boring. Not one interesting hole. None.
Nice but still needs work
I booked this course cause I drive by it all the time and it looked like it was in good condition. It came with a free bucket of range balls that turned out to be a bunch of golf balls you had to retrieve yourself and could only hit off a mat towards a net 5 yards away. The course on the other hand was in very good shape, only complaint I had was most of the bunkers did not have sand in them just hard dirt that made it feel like you were hitting off the cart path. But the fairways and green were well maintained. Overall good experience just don't be fooled by the "range" balls and stay clear of the bunkers.
CH
Good bargin course, very green these days, especially with a drought going on. Greens slow and shaggy and could use a fresh hole cut. 70% of bunkers are hard dirt. Pretty basic layout, nothing crazy unique and a lot of switch back holes.
Best Value for a great course
$32 with buffet breakfast, it's the best value in town. Sand traps were refilled with white sands.
Lots of fun
I love this course lay out from the fairway to the green. It is very challenging and fun to play
Could be a great course if it were better maintained
Disappointing course. Not well maintained. Cart died on course. Overall not a very good time
Good for the price, bunkers need some work.
Fairways have improved since the last time I played here (6/2013). Green side bunkers still need some work. Most are not playable as there isn't enough sand in them. Tee boxes are in okay condition, some better than others. Greens were in good condition overall. Pace of play was fine the day we played.
How did you get this deal?
