Carmel Highland Golf Resort

We had a 7:39 am tee time. The group in front of us (3 some) had only 2 guys show up, other guy went to the wrong course. When it got to be 10 minutes over their tee time I signeled to the cashier (no starter) and he said wait. After 10 more minutes the other group still 1 short and said we could go ahead of them. The cashier on loud speaker said it's not your turn you're after the 3 some ahead of you.. We explained the situation and he said well alright, i guess you can go ahead. That is not the attitude to keep golfers coming back. In other words customer NO service. The course and greens were in really good condition but the t boxes were messy with about three days growth. 2nd worst thing, 1/2 the bunkers were mud/clay, not sand. Inexcusable

I didn't have my a game more like my c game . But the.course slants on almost all fairways.many deep bunkers with hard sand/ dirt.

Great greens 8 out of10.fairways thick and green but narrow .Great on golf now.

For the price this is a hidden gem in the San Diego area. Great warm up area for putting, chipping and pitching. Parking was a problem so get there early to search for a spot. Determining distance took some doing but they do advertise a free GPS site to download on your phone. This was second time I've played here in three years the management company has changed but the golf is still pretty good.

Played this course @ 7 am on a Sunday am. We payed $40 with a cart so we weren't expecting that much. The course is in decent shape, fairway grass I a little bit long and grabby and the second cut was a little too long for my taste. The greens were the softest I've ever experienced, I had 2 plugged approach shots which I've never experienced. Overall for the price we were pretty happy.

I played this course with two other friends and we enjoyed our round of golf. The course was in good shape and the greens were excellent. Before we started our round we were concerned about the conditions of the fairways because of the near draught restrictions but we were pleasantly pleased with both the fairways and greens. We had a great round and would definitely go back.

Greens were in good shape. Bunkers looked good with fresh sand but were extremely soft. Had a few buried lies in the sand because of it. Fairways were in decent condition. There are some improvements happening around the course which seemed to be necessary. Overall, it was a fun round with some buddies but I don't think I'd pay more than $50 to play here again...

Been a while since played course, but course conditions have improved especially the greens. The person I played with commented that the greens were in primo condition and we both agreed we would play this course again since the price was reasonable.

Course was well maintained. Moderately challenging, and practice balls to warm up are included in green fees, although you are driving into nets, still great place to get muscle memory working. Plenty of pitching and putting green. The deli and food being offered was next to nothing, without having to sit down, so ensure you plan for that. No good way of ordering food, while you are in the 7th or 8th for the turn. Will definitely go back, great value.

This course is good. Some fairway are bad but green conditions are goos . In general, this course is valuable for the money.

If they would just put some fresh, soft sand in the bunkers, this would be a first-rate course. As it is, the bunkers are hard-packed mud holes.

I have played this course for over 10 years. However, the past few years the green fees have been to high for our group. Carmel Highland had a special last Sunday and we jumped on it. We have always enjoyed playing the course. It is a challenge to the average golfer. You must play with patience and planning. It is important that you lay up on several holes instead of "going for it!". The landscape around the greens tends to roll you into trouble so the best plan is to hit short apporaches so you have a better chance of staying on the green. The course was in the best shape I have ever seen it in. The fairway had good grass and the greens were very smooth. It was a fun day and our group really enjoyed it. Get out there soon and you'll see what I mean!

Don't bother playing this course. In the summer they have 6" of water in their bunkers. Enough said.

I was surprised to find that the course was originally planned as a full 18 hole course. It seemed like it would have been better served as a 9 hole course, or even an executive course. A lot of the fairways were severely pitched to one side and it felt very claustrophobic. Signs to the next hole and yardage markers were scarce. On a positive note, the staff is great - very friendly and accommodating.

Had a great time on this course. Will definitely re-visit.

I used to play this course often several years ago, but when the owners wanted to sell they let the course suffer. I had not played here for over a year but decided to give it another chance (a tempting Golfnow price helped). I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the greens, mostly consistent, nice condition. I have always liked the layout and the challenge of side hill lies and the need for good tee shots. The fairways were a mixed bag, better than I expected but still has areas in need of work. I decided to take a drop if I hit a bad area in the fairway. Overall experience was good. I will play it again soon.

This is a challenging course. Beginners will find it frustrating. If you're an aspiring golfer and looking for a test play here. Fairways are tight and slope towards the freeway. The tee boxes are in good shape and The greens are in decent condition but unless you're very accurate there is all sorts of trouble to get into besides bunkers and water hazards. As far as pace of play goes I've only played this course twice once for $20 on a Sunday at 3pm w friends and once for $15 on a Thursday at 1130. Both times the pace great. I wouldn't pay more than $20 to play this course.

I would have given the course a higher rating because I do play here often, however the pace of play has just gotten worse and worse lately. We paid for 18 and walked off after 9. The value for the money should be higher too but then again the price may be low for other reasons. I will be back this is a nice course I just hope they address the pace of play issue.
