Worst greens Not worthy of the title greens
Most uncared for course and worst greens I have ever played on. .will never play it again and will definitely not recommend it . It was our last opportunity to play golf ending off our vacation in Palm Springs. What a huge disappointment. Thought of asking for a refund. Had played Desert Island the day before and had a great day on a great course. Because Indian Canyon was the same price we were expecting more. An extreme example of an neglected course. .
Such poor conditions!
Fairways and tee boxes decent shape.
Greens very bumpy.
Sand traps and rough all most unplayable.
All that for a $100 hot deal.
Never again.
Poor Course Conditions
Tee boxes are very shaggy, “rough” is dirt with low cut weeds, greens are spotty, but okay, & fairways are in pretty good shape. This course is very tired.
Historic Course
Follow the mid-century golf course in the steps of the historic pros and stars. Course ind in good shape and challenging.
Disappointed
The attendant at the entrance ignored me and I had to ask twice to find out where I could get a cart..The girl at the Pro shop was friendly and helpful and informed me who I would be playing with. The Gammons.
When I went to the starter, he was pleasant and confirmed who I would play with. Then a woman came to me and mentioned her husband and she were going to play with the couple I was supposed to play with and I should play behind them which was after the time I had booked. I asked the starter about this and he just shrugged and said it was okay - Really?
I was paired with another couple of girls and thank goodness for them as they were both pleasant and made a real bad experience, better.
Also the cart had a sand rake attached to it. This kept hitting my clubs and made a banging noise the whole way.
I would definitely think twice about Golfpass giving deals on this course. Very Disappointing.
Thanks for asking for a review.
A darned shame
I was very disappointed in the condition of this course, it’s in poor shape and especially when compared to the wonderful South course. Completely different conditions.
Bunkers are not cared for, there is grass growing in many, landscaping is not kept up, greens are not nice, and it’s a shame when you consider the legacy of this club. Staff were mostly terrific and we had some laughs with them, but the North course didn’t impress any of us.
Save your money and limit your play to the South course, which is worth every penny!
A little rough around the edges
We’ve enjoyed this course for many years and after 2 yrs of covid absence we were greatly looking forward to our return south in Jan 2022. Covid supply chain issues gets the blame apparently for the course conditions as course management were not able to source sufficient grass seed for winter over seeding which resulted in many brown patches and thin turf along fairway edges and around greens. This may’ve also resulted in the poor greens as they were patchy and bumpy. Still very playable and enjoyable, it is not the beautiful lush course experienced precovid. Most if not all fairway bunkers were left unmaintained and played as ground under repair, which certainly helped my game.
Still a pleasant course with excellent friendly staff that make up for any course condition shortcomings. We’ll be looking forward to better course conditions upon our return south next winter.
The Haters are Misguided
If you're looking for a new-look, high-end golf course ; this is not it.
However, if you appreciate a course with tons of history and character in beautiful surroundings for a decent price, Indian Canyons North is it.
This course is located in stunning Murray Canyon, wending it's way through a cool neighborhood of stylish mid-century modern homes. The pro-shop and clubhouse display a number of photos from the course's Palm Springs glory days, featuring Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr,, Dino and other celeb golfers from that era.
I played in a 3-some this morning with a 7:00 tee-time. We got around in under 3 1/2 hours with no waiting. The fairways are in great shape. The rough was a little sparse, but not punitive. The greenside bunkers were raked with plenty of sand. Greens were a bit bumpy, though rolled true. Cart paths have not been maintained well over the years, but not a big deal imo.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Yes, this course's best days are behind it. But, it's a classic layout which is still very enjoyable to play.
Indian Canyons North
A nice layout through beautiful mid-century modern homes with great views of the mountains. Course is a little tired. Traps need to be maintained. Greens were a little rough, but speed was good.
Restore the course to it Glory day
It A nice track, but need some work done. Return the course back to when you had the Bob Hope Classic. Refurbish the fairways sand trap on all the fairway, would make it very challenging which is good. I am playing in the US AM tour on the 2/27/22
Very disappointing
First time playing this course and for the money it was very disappointing. Cart paths non existent, , brown areas everywhere, lots of muddy areas. Difference between the North and South course is night and day. South course is beautiful. Don’t waste your money on the North. There are lots of much nicer courses in Palm Springs area that are less money and in much better condition.
Disappointed .
The course conditions were appalling, I wouldn't recommend playing the north course. On a positive note we really enjoyed the south course and it hard to believe that the north course is part of the same ownership .
Over priced for the conditions, but the course staff are very friendly.
Tired but still an enjoyable course
Yup, it’s getting old like me, but still an enjoyable track. They are letting the fairway bunkers go to grass, but not really a big drawback. The fairways are tight enough without the bunkers anyways. Fairways are in good shape and the greens are not great, but they hold well and putt true. Lovely homes along the course that are close enough, but no one in our foursome even came close to hitting one. Staff are very nice D the pace of play was good. Teed off at 1050 and played right at 4 hours with a beginner in the group. We will come back.
Indian Canyon Review
The course was not in very good condition. Fairway traps had no sand and some were being overgrown by grass. Club house said to treat the fairway bunkers as ground under repair. Green side bunkers needed more sand. Cart paths (what there were) were in poor condition.
