Golf Advisor: Top 25 Most Improved U.S. Golf Courses
Lots of great holes but can play incredibly long especially if the wind is blowing. Greens were awesome and very quick. Fairways were nice but Tee boxes need some help.
I was so happy I really enjoy to play in this course.
Way ro slow pace of play, get the rangers out ro push - great course that deserves a better pace of play.
great golf course
tremendous layout. overall course conditions pretty good greens terrific. if I can play at a discount its a no brainer
Nice course with very good customer service
I would recommend Emerald Hills as the course conditions are excellent and everyone who works there seemed happy and eager to please golfers. Also, giving you range balls to use is HUGE in my book and the range and chipping area are top notch.
I have played there before. We got there early a nd had no one in front of us. The course was in great condition. Had a great time. I will be back!
I like this course!
My Gus and and I play this course several times and we always have a good time. we like it a lot. We were surprised that they did not have more GPS. the turf of the greens was a little high and we had to hit a little more than usual. The staff is always very nice and the food in 19 is quite acceptable
Good layout - very poor condition
The staff was wonderful from the pro shop to the restaurant to the starter. The layout is varied and imaginative. Tremendous options in terms of length from 6000 yards to 7700 yards. Good variety of par threes and quite generous off the tee so it makes for low stress. The issue was the condition of the course. The range was off a hard mat. The tees were scruffy and looked like the rough at most courses. The fairways and rough were hard to distinguish as everything seemed long. The greens were slow and bumpy. If this course could get in better shape it would be great because of the nice layout and the great staff but in this type of shape I would not recommend
Great course, but...
Played on a Saturday PM- I was in the first group out after a tournament, and we were behind the last tourney group, following behind them for the front nine- It was a best ball format, the group were clearly clueless. Example: I’ve never seen a cart parked on a green before. Nuff said.
Close to 3 hours later, we had the back and moved along well.
That aside, the course itself is a real find. Fairways in very good shape. The greens other than a few spots here an there, good , consistent one to the next, although to my liking a bit slow. The tee boxes are something of an anomaly- chewed up, rough, not fairway grass but rough. I don’t know if that makes a difference- I use a tee for all tee shots, so I didn’t care. Others have commented.
The staff were/are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The course overall is a challenging layout, in many different ways, but that is what makes it interesting and a place I look forward to playing again. I’m what my 2 index son calls a ’beater’- 20 handicap, so take all the above in that context. I dunked about 4 balls as did the rest of the group I was with. Just another cost of doing business
I’ve played a lot of places but never in Florida. This course is great and pretty long but the staff does not let you forget “How tough it is”. I’ve played many tough courses but this one isn’t too tough unless you can’t get off the tee very well. The fairways are open and there is little to worry about. Water in some spots but not really too troubling. No water jugs on the course and ball washers are scarce. Pace of play was slow and no real marshaling. The course is in great condition and beautiful.
The course was in decent shape and when in peak season will be a great course to play. Sand is Great, plays very long if you want it to.
Greens were not cut so played slow. But you can see that they are going to be great when cut and rolled.
Overall very good day on the course. Worth playing
A definite do over
Best course for the money we have played in Florida
