Editor's Note: Course closed and reopen as The Yards.
The Oak Bridge Club (formerly known as Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club at Sawgrass) in the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., sits adjacent to the famed Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. The 6,413-yard, par-70 Arnold Palmer design features water on every hole, tree-lined fairways and undulating greens. Oak Bridge favors accuracy and strategy over power and distance. New owners have upgraded the clubhouse and introduced a new restaurant, The 3 Palms Grille. A tennis center is home to 10 Har-Tru clay courts.

Course was not in good condition
When i arrived i wondered why there were so few people playing. After playing a few holes it was obvious. The greens were the worst i have played, tee boxes were poor and the whole course had a an air of neglect. The layout was actually pretty good as is the location at sawgrass, si i find this difficult to understand. Practice facilities were ok but range balls were expensive. Didnt bother with the club house. Would not play again.
Selling Part of course
Lived near this course for 2 years and just recently learned they are selling the back 6 holes next to A1A to build condos.... so they are pretty much letting the course turn into weeds all over. For the money you can play somewhere else.
Great little course needs TLC
The Oak Bridge Golf Club offers a great layout with challenging shots. Club house and facilities are in great shape considering the age of the complex. Once greens are in better shape it will a hidden jewel in Ponte Vedra Beach.
Poor conditions
The greens are in such bad shape, putting is almost impossible. May never play this course again.
Shouldn’t have Sawgrass affiliated with their name
Staff was very friendly. Quick start to first tee but the pace through front nine was a snails pace; many hazards through the first nine. Fairway conditions were fair; however, overall course conditions were absolutely horrid. There were many downed trees, a total invasion of geese, dark and muddy sand traps, cart paths had more holes than Swiss cheese, and worst of all the greens; there weren’t any. They were atrocious, poorly kept, dry and dead plus it looked like they aerated the greens with giant pitch forks. Unless one wants to just play practice, I would not recommend it to anyone.
Worst greens and tees I’ve seen
Thought previous reviewers were being harsh as Oakbridge Seemed improved awhile back
Nope - greens were a combo of bare areated and rough. We often teed off outside the tee box as it was so sandy we slipped.
Sad what’s happened here
Planned renovation apparently delayed
Course is in horrid condition. Lumpy, weedy greens. Bare fairways.
3 Palms restaurant onsite is fantastic. Go for lunch or dinner and skip the golf.
Greens are horrible
Greens are horrible.
I wish they had some money to put into the course, it’s a great layout but the greens are just horrible.
The people in the clubhouse are great as are the cart guys, course just needs work
Horrible conditions
Don’t trust any positive reviews for the course, it’s in horrible shape, worst of any course I’ve ever played. They aren’t even trying to maintain the greens. It’s like putting on a beach on half of the greens.
I’ve literally never left a review for a course and am really easy going about things, figure you get what you pay for and never complain. But this course isn’t worth $20 on a weekday in the general Jacksonville/St Johns area. Certainly not worth $42 on a Sunday morning.
They will also stack tee times 10 minutes apart with foursomes and still not have the sense to send people down the back 9 in the early morning.
All around worst course I’ve ever played.
Poor greens and tee boxes
The greens and tee boxes were terrible. They should charge half of what I paid and let you know that every green is diseased and tee boxes sandy and barley any grass.
Water, water, and more water
Challenging layout/slope rating, and every hole has water!!. Only safe shot is straight down the middle. Bring plenty of extra balls, you’re going to need them.
Wish it was better conditions
greens are not being cared for
tee boxes atrocious.
Its a shame the course is in such poor shape this time of year.
Great course to get your quick every day play in
I take my son here all the time. Greens can be rough on some holes but overall it's great course for him to learn on and you cant beat the price and location.
Terible greens
Between the live oak seed pods and the generally hard, crusty, scarred turf the greens were almost unputtable
Horrible condition
The greens in particular were in horrible condition. The rest of the course wasn’t far behind despite the potentially great course it could be. Do not be fooled by the name Sawgrass as it does not reflect the more famous course over the road.
Still a long way to go
It had been several years since I've played Oak Bridge, but I was encouraged by the recent positive reviews to give the place another try. The staff was friendly, and the updated club house was nice, but that's about the end of the positives. The tee boxes were all torn up and hard to find footing on, the fairways and rough weren't much better, and the greens were a bumpy mess. Also, with no hole overviews to work off of, many of us ended up in water hazards we simply didn't know were there. It's hard to believe a course in this condition is inside the gates at TPC.
Nice but.....
The price was right. The pace of play was right. The layout was right. Conditions were questionable. As I understand it, things are improving. Tee boxes were rough. Greens were rough but apparently are improving. I liked the whole experience very much. If the course conditions continue to improve, they’ll get much better reviews. I will, however, definitely go back, hoping things continue to improve.
The layout is tight. Target golf for sure. Don’t let the par 70 fool you. You need to be on top of your game to place some shots. As I said, the layout is good, very challenging. Lots of fun to try and get your ball in the right places. And the greens, while in rough shape ( but poss improving ) are not the typical Florida-flat. They’ve got some great undulations which make them interesting. Bunkers were pretty good, somewhat fluffy. Lots of crabgrass everywhere, by again, supposedly improving.
I paid $32 on Golf Now and, for now, worth it.
It’s a recommendation from me.
This course is in horrible shape and should be shut down. Not to mention the change their rain policy daily to meet their needs. All respectable course prorate their greens fees based on rain. We were given nothing and were rained out half way through. Golf now should remove this course from their list.
Every green is a putt -putt, goofy golf adventure. This course used to be nice but needs too be closed and the disrespectful employees in the Pro shop fired.
