The Oak Bridge Club (formerly known as Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club at Sawgrass) in the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., sits adjacent to the famed Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. The 6,413-yard, par-70 Arnold Palmer design features water on every hole, tree-lined fairways and undulating greens. Oak Bridge favors accuracy and strategy over power and distance. New owners have upgraded the clubhouse and introduced a new restaurant, The 3 Palms Grille. A tennis center is home to 10 Har-Tru clay courts.

As a UK visitor this course has many water hazards, multiple bunkers (condition could be improved) but also retains a country atmosphere.
It is fund to play.
Good Deal for the course.
If you get a hot deal it is definitely worth the money. I have played this course 5 times in a month. Great to work on your swing and practice/play. Greens were there best I have seen them in a decade this passed fall. Then they dressed with sand. I will return. Several people slowed the front, so I was able to play the back. IMO the back is almost a different course. Better.
Some improvement here
Playing on an iffy weather day resulted in a decent outing with not many golfers out there.
It was a cartpath only day given much rain the day before so they deserve a pass on fairway and trap conditions.
One positive is the greens had been treated and sanded and that’ll help in coming weeks but it would’ve been nice to have some warning on GolfNow as putting rough. Looking forward to better conditions in another couple weeks.
Slipping further - better cheap options around
I see the GolfNow prices have increased here which is ironic because its just not a $20 course !
Used to regularly see $12-14 hot deals so I'm guessing management is at play here.
Positives - nice driving range and the cart personnel are very pleasant. On a weekday when not using a hot deal time the pace can be quick.
Negatives - greens and tee boxes are a wreck, not unusual to be putting through bare spots and even rough. 30% of the traps should be ground under repair - last round there were two that looked like a stream had been through but it hadn't rained in a week.
All this must be on management as I see maintenance out there but there's only so many of them and so much they can do with limited funds.
My friend won't play here anymore - I'll consider it when the HotDeals are closer to a day at the driving range.
Overall Condition of Course
Really enjoy the course however the sand traps are awefulll. If they are not tended to with good sand then why not fill them in and let the grass grow. Everything away from greens that is. The weather is changing so there are more leaves in fairways and those susceptible to that should be a priority to blow or mulch. Otherwise a typical Friday with too many slow foursomes, too much waiting between holes.
sad to see the course slipping
We've been playing here for 16 mos and have gone from hopeful of improvement to not so much.
Every once in awhile the course seems to be on its way back so its been frustrating. I understand there's behind the scenes stuff such as a potential cut down to 12 holes so maybe this is impacting funding of course maintenance.
One reason we put up with lesser conditions is the flexibility of being able to get out early if there's no groups ahead. Today for the first time that got nixed so not sure how much more we'll play here given that perk is gone. There was literally no groups coming for another hour so not understanding logic on that one.
Weeds, bare spots and even rough on some greens. We started giving ourselves a two putt max as if there was aeration. Tee boxes were burnt out or placed on uneven areas where there'd been no tee box before. Ironically they have started raking traps so thumbs up for that.
Too many other fine courses around to deal with this
Back to shaky conditions
Burnt out fairways and tee boxes. Some greens decent others had bare spots and weeds. The people who work there are great but I imagine their hands are tied on doing needed upkeep
Poorly maintained
I had heard a rumor that the course was in better shape than a year ago.
WRONG, bare spots on the greens, tee boxes are in bad shape, just lots of dirt, I remain amazed that this is a Sawgrass property.
Greens
Th greens were particularly poor, very slow and bumpy. This was partially due to recent punching and fertilizing, but there were many bare patches that will take time to grow in again.
Oak Bridge
First time playing OB and with one caveat, I was very impressed. Greens were "under construction" as pre-advised and reflected in the fee. So once the greens are finished, this course will be a gem!! Beautiful environment, great layout and hole design. Fairways are professional grade and in excellent condition. Staff was very helpful. Looking forward to greens getting up to par and I will return often.
bad greens / no pin placement
I like this course but the greens are in terrible shape.
This course also doesn't have pin placement system. Half the time you don't know where you need to hit missed a few pars because of this.
Skip This One
We live in Ponte Vedra and played this for the first time. The course is in terrible shape and the staff told us that it's going to be cut down to 12 holes and renovated. The staff is great, very friendly, but the golf is awful. Wait until they do the renovations and try again.
Loved it
The staff was very friendly and the course was in great shape.
