Los Serranos, Golfnow continue to disappoint
Bought Hot Deal via Golfnow for 12:11 tee time and received confirmation from Golfnow for a 12:11 tee time. When we got to the course, the guy in pro shop said we had a 12:25 tee time. We said we bought the 12:11 time. He said Golfnow does not have access to their tee sheet and is an unsecured tee time and Los Serranos will provide tee time closest to the time we purchased through Golfnow. We asked if that meant it could be an hour or 2 later or earlier than what we bought and he said yes and suggested we book through them and not Golfnow since they have better deals and don't charge booking fees. We asked better than hot deals and he said no. We have never heard this and it's nowhere on our confirmation e-mail that the time was unsecured nor were we contacted that our time was changed. Bad business on the part of Golfnow (per always) and Los Serranos. This could be my home course being it's only a few minutes from my house, but have had so many bad experiences here, I usually go elsewhere. The very few times I do golf here, it just reminds me why I go elsewhere to golf, and this was just one more reason why. Also, we were put out behind an outing, so pace of play was poor. Course conditions were mediocre at best, despite them doing maintenance early the month before. Greens were inconsistent and like putting on broccoli. Fairways were ok, brown in many spots. On the bright side, the girls in the halfway houses were very nice, although not sure why one was going home in the middle of the afternoon while the course was still busy. But would definitely avoid booking anything through Golfnow or playing at Los Serranos. Jack Kramer should have stuck to tennis instead of disgracing golf.
Pay Extra for GPS - NO THANK YOU
Wow, their new carts come with Greg Norman "Shark" GPS complete with music and tips from Greg . . . but only if you pay $10 extra per cart! This is absolutely unacceptable and shame on the management of this course for charging extra for something that most quality courses include with the green fee.
Great day
Had a great day even though they punched the greens
Punched Greens
No mention of the greens JUST being punched. Not on the GolfNow site or on Los Serrano's either. At check in the guy was very rude and said GolfNow was NOt even affiliated with them. They had to squeeze us in on the tee sheet. I had a customer drive 50min to find out the greens are crap!!! WE should have been told!!
Course accommodates different skill levels
Played round in four hours fifteen minutes. Greens were very good in the heat. Fairways were good for the most part with some bare spots. Challenging layout as I played the back tees North course. Staff was very good! I will return.
Very nice course
Pro shop staff was outstanding, especially Jeremy. It was clean and well stocked with golf items. Golf carts were clean and fully charged up. They have gps, music, etc..... very nice. Fairways were green as were the tee boxes. The rough areas were a bit dry but that is too be expected with the current heat wave that includes a lot of humidity. Pace of play was good, probably because of the heat. Overall, a great golf day.
Good lay out and features
Near from I live plus two course choices and decent lay out.
Serranos
A good course, depends on length for challenge more than design, but a good course at a reasonable price. Not really good for women, they get about 10 yds advantage per hole, very long for them. Should put in tees for women that are reasonable. Again, a design flaw.
Love it!
I really enjoy play this course. Especially the north one. Somewhat challenging but not so much that your average weekend golfer can't enjoy it. I've never had a problem with the staff. They're alway friendly and very accommodating. 5 stars from me.
Will most likely skip when scrolling
Greens, thumbs up . Tee boxes 50/50... really not that hard to have a nice flat tee box. Around the greens, horrible dirt and grass. Fairways, skinny! Off fairway, good luck , ugly. Bunkers, some good, some hard. Last, the course did not have me in their system that I had booked through GolfNow... said they are having issues recently (double check). It will be a while before I play this course again (North).
Excellent green conditions
If I live in Riverside, I would play here often but...
Mostly a good day.
I can't believe that a course as well taken care of as the North course would have clay dirt and mud for bunkers.
Sloooooooow pace of play
This is my second round here on the north course and both rounds have taken over 4 and a half hours. The staff is very nice and helpful. Tee boxes and fairways are in good condition and greens are in great shape. I will return and try again when I have all day to spend on the course.
Anything goes management
Patheticaly slow. No place management allow 5 and 6 players in a group. They will tell you 5 but if the managed the pace they would find some groups of 6.
They really dont care about your golf experience. They just want your money.
