Greens condition Photo submitted by manuelbravo on 09/06/2017
Really?
This course is basically unplayable because the condition of the fairways and tees. While the greens are okay, both the tees and fairways are basically hay, leaves, weeds and gopher holes. THERE IS VIRTUALLY NO GREEN GRASS ON ANY FAIRWAY ON THE ENTIRE COURSE. It was difficult to find a drive hit straight in what would be the fairway because of all the leaves. The owner should be ashamed of putting this course on Golf Now and suckering fools like me to drive an hour and a half to play it.
Golf now needs to remove this course!
This was the worst conditions I have ever been forced to pay for!...told the pro shop this is not worth the gas to drive to thos course!.I was told I had to pay because I made the reservation through golf now. After being force to pay we discovered the back nine was worse than the front...tee boxes are dirt and un even...the greens are inconsistent and there are no such thing as a fairway it is all dirt and weeds...do not play here!...please remove this location from golf now it makes you look bad to refer to this place as a golf course, or atleast have a disclaimer saying they do not water anything but the greens!...this was the worst experience I have ever had and I have played hemet golf course before in the summer. It is truly sad because this used to be a great course!
Don't advertise this course
The tee boxes and fairways has no grass, gopher holes. Dry as a bone. Only good thing was that the greens were descent. I would not recommend this course to anybody. Wouldn't mind if I could get a refund.
Thank you
They should give us all vouchers for even advertising this place at all!
Post Zombie Apocalypse course
It looks like the course is ready to permanently close any day now. The course has not been maintained for quite some time. It is not worth the $45 fee due to the rough conditions unless you want to go to a place where you will be the only golfer around.
All ready for development
Not a place to play golf unless you’re into weeds and dry dirt. It’s definitely not maintained and getting ready for development for houses so there is absolutely no maintenance on anything. They just gave up. Don’t play it. They made me give them a star to get through this review but again don’t play it I would never even give them a one star.
Castle Creek
The Course is not being maintained at all at this time. The fairways are not really fairways , more like like a meadow that is not mowed or maintained. Gopher holes everywhere, weeds in the middle of the fairway 2-3 ft high. no real distinguishing difference between the rough and fairway. All of the sand traps were covered with weeds. The greens were definitely an adventure to putt on. I will not play there again. By the way no services were available at the office or pro shop and building was locked during round so bathrooms were unavailable.
STAY AWAY!!!
Never again
You cannot call this a golf course. This is an embarrassment.
Apocalypse golf course
Felt like I was in the hills have eyes on this course. Red ants, rattlesnakes, no grass, gophers. I felt like this place is abandoned.
No one there
I believe that they are going out of business. We were the only two players on the course. We had to find a a spot on the tee box without 8-10 inch weeds to play from! Clubhouse looks like it has been condemned.
What a fun layout but, never again.
Ghost Course
Midday tee time.
Only one employee on site.
Virtually no one playing the course, which was in horrible shape. Fairways were green but pure sand a quarter inch below the surface. Better pick the ball cleanly.
Couldn’t use the restroom at the turn because the clubhouse was locked up tighter than a drum.
When we finished the clubhouse was still locked but one guy had arrived to put the cart away in the cart shed behind the first tee.
Bizarre. I’d be curious to hear their business plan.
Poor upkeep of the course
This course had a great layout, which would have made for a great day, but it was so challenging to find our balls it became irritating. The condition of the course was SO poor, we spent a ton of time looking for our balls when they were even on the fairway, as the fairway wasn't mowed with the grass being picked up, plus deep clover everywhere. There were piles of grass/hay left from the mower that basically swallowed up balls. We could see our ball land and then disappear, that's pretty ridiculous. The tee boxes weren't well kept either. Until this course is cleaned up, it's not worth coming, as we might as well just come in and hand you a dozen balls and leave. Also, having to return your cart by 5pm is not good either if you have a late tee time, as the course takes a ton of time to finish, especially with the lost ball situation. We didn't even finish. It's a shame because I really liked the layout of the course. It could be a great course to play, much better than an executive course. PGA type, if maintained.
The elderly gentleman that gave us our carts was very nice and helpful.
I would like to come back some day if it has better maintenance of the course. Until then, I'm afraid you won't have any takers.
This course is terrible
The only reason I rated this course challenging, is because of the condition of the entire course. I would not recommend this course to my worst enemy, it's that bad. Only two greens were in fair condition. The fairways and ruff areas desperately needed to be mowed. Some areas appeared to have been mowed at one time, the grass was not mulched, so there were clumps of dead grass laying top of some fairways and all the ruff areas.
Huge clumps of clover on some fairways all ruff areas, so if your ball went in, it was gone. Absolutely terrible place to golf!!!
Great Course Design, Horrible Maintenance
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Castle Creek COULD be a great course; the holes are interesting & challenging. But the maintenance, of the entire facility, is currently so poor that there's no way to enjoy playing there.
The tee boxes are a combination of bare ground, overgrown grass, and weed laden. The fairways are narrow, but decently kept except for the overgrown, clover infested, sides and rough. Many areas are so dense that the only way to find your ball is by stepping on it! Our foursome 4.5 hours to get through 14 holes; then we had to quit in order to return the carts as required, by 5 PM. Finally, due to the poor grass conditions, you'll lose MANY balls (8-12).
Save your time, and $$ - go somewhere else.
Fair...?...where have you been playing?...this is the worst course in California!
