Conditions Are Improving
I have avoided playing here for the last few months as the condition of the course had gotten pretty bad: plus two holes had been shortened in length. Happy to say course is back to its original par 72 layout and conditions have improved somewhat. Fairways are still devoid of grass in many areas; greens are good; rough is also bare in spots.
Biggest negative - I booked a 6:32 am tee time and no one showed up in the pro shop until a bit "after" 7:00! Hope to see more improvement in the future as layout is fun & challenging.
Diamond in the rough.
Course conditions improved from a few months ago. Hole 9 now back to par 5. New green grass fairway. Other holes indecent condition. A challenging course for all levels.
This course is a good value. The layout keeps it interesting as you can think about how you want play the hole. My round took less than 3 hours without trying. I highly recommend this course. The greens are very consistent. I think the fairways are what you should expect for this time of the year.
Th Ninth hole Par 5 is back!!!
Great value for the money. No houses on the course. Challenging holes. Overall good fun for the average plus golfer.
Course needs attendance
Love the layout but course is in rough shape needs some real time work #9 is temporary turned into a Par3 They have over seeded #9 so they are letting in grow in which makes sense but the price should reflect that .
Clubhouse poor, too many bald spots, not much green grass, on many of the holes the green fairway was too far from the tee boxes for average golfer.
This course has a good layout...
The course is not bad...it needed a little maintenance. Green is good but the tee box needed attention...
So far, I'm convince that this course is good for all levels of golfers..
The Worst Conditions I have Ever Seen!
The last time we played here was 8 years ago. The conditions were beautiful! Now the conditions are dry and almost non existent grass. The grass that there is is about 1 mm long. Some of the greens were green and others were brown. The last time I've I played a course that was THIS MESSED up was Moreno Valley Ranch and it went under two weeks later. What are the intentions of this course?? Are you planning to stay in business?
This is a good layout but is suffering due to drought conditions. Greens are in good condition but some fairways are dry..
Worth the drive
Diamond valley is a little gem 1 1/4 hours outside of Palm Springs. The course is beautifully designed . A lot of ithe grassy area was very dry, but they are watering. We will go back next year.
After having severe water problems. Efforts are being made to bring the course back. Fairways are still brown, greens are in good shape
This is a good course in fair to bad condition
Lack of water has left the course dry and brown. Once again Golf Now did not mention the course was recently cross-cut and the greens were slow and bumpy and there’s a lot of dry areas you have to play out of ☹️
On the Comeback Trail
My group has played Diamond Valley since it has been opened. We love the layout and the different golf shots you have to hit on this course. The course is on the right path to get back to where it was. Although a little slow right now the greens are all over seeded and full and lush. The landing areas in the fairways are full of grass. They are watering all the right areas on the course. We all need to get out there and support this course before it disappears. The staff is working their tails off to keep it alive.
This is not right, course is in terrible condition/
Such a shame!
This is my last time ever playing Diamond Valley Golf Course! This course used to be great, great layout, scenic back drop of the San Jacinto and Big Bear Mountains, tough enough to play a great round, and beautiful water features. Unfortunately the current ownership has run this place into the ground! The greens are rock hard, the fairways are more dirt than grass, the water has dried up and the course looks more like a post apocalyptic wasteland than a golf course! I would Golf at Hemet Valley Golf Club for a better experience at a better value!
When An Old Friend Dies
This used to be my favorite course. Great layout, diverse playing experience, beautiful and challenging holes. I would brag to anyone that would listen, and tell them the experience was well worth the drive.
Something has happened. The course is suffering from severe neglect.
If the management is serious about returning the course to it's old glory, then they better do it now before it's too late.
Wow this course is on life support. They have one groundskeeper running around with a hose watering the greens and another mowing what grass is remining on the fairways. This course used to be fun even though they had the worse staff in golf. The staff thought they were working at Pebble Beach and were very rude. What drinking was available on the course was hot and there wasn't much. I predict this land will be a housing development in another year.
