Save your money and time
This course is not good even for beginners. Very much needed repairs and care. Don't waste your money.
I can’t understand it
I have many fond memories here so I try to go back at least once a year. The design is good. The greens are generally in good shape although this past weekend they were a little slow. What I can’t understand is how they can have such a nice practice Area for chipping and putting and let the fairways go in the way that they have. They know how to maintain grass as evidenced by the area around the practice area. Just do that in the fairways. As long as you don’t mind bumping the ball onto some grass it can still be a great experience. You get to hit all your clubs. Don’t get discouraged by the slow pace on the first two holes. It usually picks up after that. There seems to be a lot more new golfers at this course than at other courses. It’s a great place to learn but if you were expecting golfers with normal actions and common etiquette, this is not the place.
Course is a mixed bag
Pace of play was solid, and better than most other courses in area. However the fairway is mostly dirt with patches of grass. It's almost better to play for the rough. Greens are good. It's a great course for inexperienced or average players.
General old
Great course for the price it's a value for me plenty of shade greens are decent a little fast fairways are decent but the ruff is thick and a couple of the bunkers sand was hard .
Great if you want to practice
The course works for the price most of the time. Course not in great shape at all, but it is functional if you just need to get away and play. Very slow play, plan for 5-5.5 hour rounds.
Good value
Is this course as nice as Riverside's famed Victoria Club? No, but for the price it's either better than or equal to many other courses in the area that charge 10 to 30 dollars more a round. The people running the place are good, the greens were consistent, the fairways were well kept, the restaurant is limited in selection but what they have is good quality and decently priced. I would play here a lot more if I lived closer. I don't know that I can play anywhere else this good for less.
Good time in afternoon wind
A little tough in Riverside since there's usually a strong afternoon breeze/wind that will have you questioning your club selection. Some of the people that play are kind of rough, but at this price you'll see people like that. But for this price the course is great!
