Always a Good Time
I have been frequenting Mission Trains since I started playing back in 2014. This was the first time I had been back in over a year however. It was nice to see an upgraded food truck for lunch and the driving range stalls were in great shape. This course can be very challenging on the back 9 with elevation changes and some blind tee shots. This course did not live up to the "Mission Snails" name on this day and the course played very well despite it being windy and rainy for a majority of the round. Cant blame my 87 on anything other then my miss hits and failed pitch shots. Greens rolled very well all be it a little sticky probably due to it being over cast.
As always the staff was great, the two-some I was paired with made the round even more enjoyable. I always recommend this course to friends if they have around 5hrs to dedicate to a round as it can get backed up a little bit on the weekends, but hey, that's a result of it being a great and challenging course.
Hacker
Course was in good condition, probably best I have seen it in a while. Fairways were all mowed, very few dry spots in the fairways, and greens are recovering from an aeration from 2-3 weeks ago. A couple of tee-boxes needed work, but overall course was definitely worth the money.
Would play it again!
Very nice layout. Fun course to play. Somewhat challenging but not like the elite courses. FUN!
The course was very nice except they had just airated the course.
Uber Pricing
A buddy and I went to the course at twilight since they had a $12 deal (walking). When I got to the course the cost was $35. The pro shop guy said they have pricing like Uber. And when it’s busy, the cost increases. The most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. What a joke this place is. Pass!!
One of My New Favorites
Excellent conditions considering the recent rain. A few holes on the front nine were affected with some puddles building up but it was far less damage than expected. The fairways were in pristine condition as well as the greens. Overall had a great round and will definitely return
Sloppy and Slow
American Golf always tries to fit more tee times into an hour than is realistically possible. Pace alternated between ok and poor. Course affected by much rain so fairways are lnot cut short and there is no run out for the ball After landing. Greens were also a little long so difficult to read.
Birthday round
The back 9 is way better than the front. I know with the rains we had , they have done a good job keeping the course playable. Biggest draw back was the pace of play and waiting to hit. Other than that I had a great time and met so e very nice people for my first time playing this course. I will definitely play again
Long day at Mission Trails
Front nine should NOT have been open today! Course SOGGY… cart paths only, but the fairways were so wet they shouldn’t even have been walked on in many places. Lots of plugged balls, several lost in the rough due to wet conditions.
Even accounting for cart paths only, pace of play was abysmal! Four hours and fifty minutes. Two rangers on duty, but neither was doing anything to move slow groups along.
Course has potential, but even accounting for soggy conditions, it’s a little rough around the edges and could use some TLC.
Concrete Swales Galore
15 of 18 holes have concrete swales, and, there is no relief !
Several greens with not a flat spot to be found.
