Always a great course! New management is making some great changes and bringing this course back to life!
Needed Mowing
Course was ok. Looked like they hadn't mowed in 2 weeks. Had just aerated the greens so they were awful. Cart paths were horrible. Rough ride. Everything needs some work. Staff was friendly.
Friendly staff and great layout. Greens, however, are not very good. They recently aerated but it goes well beyond that. I hope to see those beautiful greens back again soon.
This is a Nice Course
They are still cleaning up from a recent storm (not a problem is you stay in the fairway) and the grass is greening up well.
They plugged the greens a few weeks ago, and now the grass on the greens is growing well. Not the pristine greens, but if you play here regularly, you have to play thru the yearly maintenance schedules.
The people here are friendly and accommodating. The on-course staff is large and working hard to make this very nice.
New Management
Stonebridge is now Lakeland. The course is in fairly good shape given the recent change in management. The sand bunkers need a lot of work. The greens also need work. They were punched and sanded. Several of the greens showed signs of neglect.
Course was very nice and in really good shape except for the greens which had been aerated 2 weeks prior and were still pretty bumpy. Other than that really enjoyed and will be back again
I have no clue what new management did
I used to play Stonebridge a lot but the course went to h*** and I would not waste my money there anymore. Fast forward a few years and I hear that some investors bought it and put money into it. I am excited so I bring some friends along, some from out of town. After hole 2, I already regretted my decision. The course in my opinion is in worst condition then when I last played. I have no clue what management did to improve the course because I didn't see it. The bunkers are definitely in worse condition, every green is riddled with weeds and has sand and crap all over it. Every tee box is covered with weeds, the fairways are rock hard. The course just sucks. Really disappointing.
The bumpiest Aerated Greens
The greens had recently been aerated and sanded but they also needed mowing. Plinko was the only way I can describe trying to putt on these greens. I generally give a large allowance to maintenance issues but full price wasn't worth it. Try else where for a month.
Was once a great course
This course was once maintained like a country club. It is now worse than a muni. For the fee they charge, i expect much more. I have been playing this course for more than 30 years. This is the worst condition i have ever seen it. If it were not for the occaisional sprig of poa, there would be nograss on the fairways at all. And on top of that, they close the pro shop and consession area at 5 pm, with a bunch of people on the course and on the range.
