Royal Oaks Golf Course & Event Center

Above average greens, rough covered with long grass clippings, tough/impossible to find balls barely off the fairway...won't go back.

Royal Oaks is one of the courses I play regularly and enjoy the course and layout very much. The value for the money is great and the condition of the course is also great.

They mixed up the two courses to make only one 18. The grass is weeds and the greens, slow!!!

No course ranger group of 4 players in front of us would not let us play through

This course has come a long way in the last three years. Greens are excellent, fairways are pretty good bermuda and the clubhouse is a great improvement over the previous one. The only negative is the maintenance of the traps.

I play this course as often as i can.

The course has been changed back to the original layout. The driving range and new holes did not work out well. The course is in good shape now and the greens are very nice and roll true. The sand traps are still poor and that's why I didn't give it 5 stars.The gold tees are good for us older guys and the blue tees are a challenge for the better golfers. If you par #15 that's quite an accomplishment.

FIRST LET ME COMMEND THE COURSE AND OWNER FOR REALIZING THE RECENT CHANGES MADE JUST DID NOT WORK ( AT CONSIDERABLE EXPENSE I WOULD ASSUME) I ALWAYS ENJOY PLAYING THIS COURSE THE CONDITION HAS IMPROVED GRATELY I WAS GLAD TO SEE HOLES 10 AND 11 BACK IN PLAY HOLE 15 IS STILL ROUGH BUT I LOOK TO SEE IT BACK SOON ITS ONE OF MY FAVORITE HOLES AS IT REQUIRES A PERFECT TEE SHOT THE COURSE IS GETTING BACK TO A COURSE I PLAYED AND WILL CONTINUE TO PLAY NUMEROUS TIMES A YEAR THANKS ROYAL OAKS FOR DOING WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE

Played her a few times many years ago and liked it. This time it was terrible. Cow pasture, although greens aren't bad. GPS doesn't work because the entire layout has changed. No sand in bunkers. Clover everywhere. Lost 2 balls in the fairway. Best part of the day was the beer cart.

Heard this course had been remodeled so I wanted to try it again as during my last experience, maybe 2 years ago, I told myself I wouldn't play it again for the price. The remodel was incomplete such as some holes with no cart path, missing signs for cart paths, unclear the "fairway" from rough, and weeds in the teebox. This was by far the worst course I have been to in the area to date and will not be going back, even for a free round.

Good:
The young man and girl working in the clubhouse were very friendly.

Bad:
- Table in the clubhouse butts right up against the pro shop counter and was filled with cronies who couldn't even be bothered to move a chair so you could check in.

- Purchased 18 holes but because of the ridiculously slow pace of play only completed 9 in the 3 hours and 10 minutes on the course. To be fair, the girl working in the clubhouse did apologize and give me a raincheck for the 9 I didn't get to play.

- Other than the greens, which were flat and straight, the course looked like the cow pasture next to hole #1 including clover everywhere.

- Every other course I have played that is part of a golf/housing development the housing was built around the golf course. Here it seems like the course was jammed inside the houses and they are very close. There were 2 holes where the houses are so close that I could here the conversations going on while on the tee box.

- The carts for this course should be required to be street legal. I have never traveled so much on public roadways to go hole to hole. To get back to the clubhouse from #9 green was literally an 8 minute drive up the main road to the course.

I can't recommend this course to anyone.

Played the course for many years and enjoyed. They remodeled to add a driving range, hope that works out, for my party you ruined the course the added holes are impossible small greens that are domed and surrounded by water and too short. We've played a few times since the change and no longer enjoy it so we won't be going back. Thanks for the memories and good luck with the new layout it didn't work for us. For us, dump the driving range and restore a nice course.

I only write this candid review to alert GolfNow customers as to what they will encounter at Royal Oaks.

The current overall condition of the golf course is terrible. The course, with the exception of very nice greens has not seen any care. I unfortunately cannot recommend spending money on green fees. Sure hope situation changes and an investment is made to care for a beautiful setting for a golf course.

The scenery is beautiful. You can see the mountains from almost every hole. However, the course layout is difficult to navigate. You are on subdivision roads as much as you are on the golf course. There does not seem to be a natural flow from one green to the next tee box.

This is a very solid choice for a low cost evening round. I paid $20 on golf now to ride, which is bottom dollar. It's the strangest layout in the world, winding through the neighborhood between every hole. It's a pretty tight course, and the greens were excellent, despite nobody fixing their ball marks. The rest of the course is not in great shape, and it seems it has been re-routed recently. The cart girl was amazing and went back specifically to get me a cup of ice when I asked for it. Excellent service! To get four stars from me you've got to grow some grass in the fairways (granted it's early season) and control the weeds around the greens.

Course is not well kept, especially the bunkers which are overgrown. Course has some interesting holes but too many par 3s on the back (4, soon to be 6). Staff is very friendly and Golfnow hot deals equal bargain price in summer.

The course is making major changes which has limited the quality of fairway play. Greens in good condition for the fall season.

Friendly staff, green were in great shape for late fall playing, fairways were large and this course is great for any golfer of any skill level. Challenges even low handicap players. W ell worth my 2 hour drive. Will definitely be playing this course again in the future.

Seems as though the golf facilities were lacking in upkeep and the sand traps had grass growing in them. They had perform some sort of maintenance such as verdicut, but it cuts were so bad......it was like putting on a cobblestone surface. Too many other courses around here to pick from before I send someone that way.
