Rode the Blues (6328/69.6/117) with FirstFlightFX-101. No POP issues, we had the course to ourselves twilight in sunny, increasingly windy conditions in the low 100's. We walked the last 3 holes because the carts had to be in by 6pm. Thanks to Chuck for a fun round!
Bermuda tees mostly lush with most divots already properly maintained.
Bermuda fairways were mostly lush with few unfixed divots.
Bermuda primary rough is mowed down and not very penal. However, if you miss the grass rough the native areas are 50/50 on whether you can play your ball even if you find it.
Sand traps had good quality sand but were not well maintained. Too many footprints and unraked areas to be considered good.
Bermuda greens were fairly smooth/firm and putted medium speed. No huge slopes or tiers on these greens, but there is rarely a straight putt anywhere.
No on course services with COVID-19. Excellent customer service from all encountered. Carts have GPS to the front/middle & back of the green along with hole tips. No Starter, Marshall or Drink cart most days. Restaurant onsite was closed. All grass range open. Fun course in good shape. Recommended.
Good value for money and quick round
Course was in decent shape on fairway but lots of dead grass immediately outside of fairway. I played solo at 645am and finished my round in 2 hours flat which is fastest ever, only had to wait on two holes before I was allowed to pass. Good round for money ($40)if you can put up with heat and bugs flying around occasionally.
Tried it again
Played here 4 weeks ago and the wind was blowing 30mph. Had to quit after 9. So watch weather forecasts. Teed off early bcuz of heat. Played in 2:15 as a single. 2 beautiful par 3 holes on the back. Really like all the par 5’s. Some bare patches in the fairway and traps were wet. Other than that the course is in great shape. Greens were slow but rolled true. Easy to chip from the nice light rough. I’ll be back soon.
Let us go out early. Everyone was nice. Great design. There was little wind when we played so it was gettable. Looks as if it would be fun in the wind tho as the course appears to be built to handle that afternoon push that the wind turbines rely on. Looking forward to next time.
Booked on GolfNow. Talked to the pro the day before about a quick lesson before my round and he confirmed. Sounded like the place emptied out in the afternoon, but was still accepting tee times w limited staff.
Showed up, clubhouse is locked. No one is around and the place is almost abandoned. The only employee I saw was the guy in the cart barn, who told me that despite my online reservation, I needed to give him $20 cash to take a cart out to play. That seemed pretty unusual! The pro who blew off the scheduled lesson texted me 2 hrs after the appointment saying he couldn’t make it.
It’s ok tee to green, but the greens themselves are like the surface of the moon. I thought I’d read they’d been punched a month ago, but they were in terrible shape. Overall just a weird experience.
The course was in decent shape. The greens had been airiated a week before so they were still a little bumpy. Great value
Short but challenging with waste areas and bunkers throughout the course. Greens protected with sand traps.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Great Value. Solid.
Pro Shop advised that the 1st tee is crowd sourced. Single guys (playing as a solo group) are allowed to go first. Tee times not rigid. Ready golf is tee box open. They had just punched the greens a few weeks ago spoke the greens were a bit uneven but otherwise good course conditions.
Overall not bad course
Course layout was decent. Course comditions were ok. Fairways and rough were good but the greens were horrible. Looks like recently punched but lots of sand. Made for rough putting. Bunkers had alot of rocks in them and whem u hit out of bunker you just prayed there was no rocks to damage your clubs. All in all, i would play again when greens are healthy and taken care of
I will never understand...
I booked on Golf Now a week in advance of my tee time on 6/26. Show up at the course and there is a line of people getting a refund because the course just punched the greens in the last day or two. Why does the course and/or Golf Now not give notice when people book online. I would have cancelled and played another course if I would have known. This course is always cheap in the summer, but not worth it at any price, in my opinion.
Very disappointing and I will likely pass on future rounds there. Too many other nice courses that you give notice of course maintenance.
The staff is friendly, the course is great, the course is in great condition.
Rode the Blacks (6782/71.6/122) as a single in 2H, 45M mid day on a GN Hot Deal. The weather was clear, fairly calm and in the low 100's.
COVID-19: Mask only @ check-in. They provided ice chests, but restaurant closed. No rakes or divot mix.
First time here in almost 2 years. Fairways 2-4 are more level than they were before they were washed away and rebuilt after the Feb 2019 flood. They no longer lean toward the wash, which is a plus. Reasonably wide open, flat layout with few forced carries and not overly tough for the average golfer. I enjoy this course as a change of pace, a solid mid level alternative for the Palm Springs area that is usually in decent shape.
Today was no exception. Firm and plenty of tan areas, but the course is very playable. Bermuda tees, fairways and rough all have good coverage. Semi lush with a few brown/thin areas due to the heat. All are mowed close.
Traps had decent sand, but contain too many rocks and unraked areas to be considered good.
Bermuda greens were firm and putted medium speed with few ball marks.
Customer service was good, quick efficient check-in. All grass driving range. No drink cart or Marshall, I only saw a few other groups playing this afternoon. GPS on the basic carts to the front/middle/back of the green and tips to hazards. Recommended.
Cimarron is one of the best!!
Cimarron was pretty well wiped out 18 months ago by a substantial storm. It’s back better than ever. One of my 2 favorite courses in the valley and I’ve played most of the public courses. I’m an 8 hdcp, so I’ve been around the block. For me, a good course has you use every club in your bag. That’s Cimarron. The course is in great shape and greens fees are the best bargain around.
We played Boulder course
We picked a wrong day. wind was blowing and it was very difficult to keep the ball in play.
