Interesting layout, poor condition
Course has an interesting layout. It appears to be built on a site without enough land, as several fairways and approach shots are extremely close together. Having said that there are several interesting holes, some elevation change and water hazards.
Greens are very small and were in very poor condition. Most were very bumpy. Grass i the fairways was spotty - clumps of grass comping out of dormancy and holes of grass not yet growing. That made approach shots difficult for me. Around the greens it wasn’t any better. OVerall it seems like a course that want ready for play. Not sure if it was a hard winter, poor maintenance, not enough water, too much water, or something else, but the conditions were very poor. Having said that we had a lot o fun, people on the course were extremely nice and pace of play was reasonable.
Oh, and the cart paths are probably the bumpiest i have ever been on.
I hope they get the condition up to something better, as i think it would be a real fun course given a little better conditioning.
No restrooms on the course, only outhouses - but plenty of trees if that works for you.
I dont currently recommend, but if the conditions improve i probably would recommend it as a fun place to play.
Not sure why it is rated so high
So you do not have a cart path. The course layout is so confusing and runs into each other. Without alcohol we played one hole wrong. No drink or food carts. No water coolers. Could definitely be better run as it is maintained. Greens are nice. Fairways and tee boxes are decent. But for a twilight tee time on a Monday it was a bit aggravating to be waiting to tee off while a group was behind.
Fabulous greens!
Relatively straight forward layout. Not much trouble. Played from white tees, would play blue next time. Not much run out on fairways, but greens are awesome! Rolled very true. Staff was great. Definitely recommend playing.
Golf with a budget in Tyler
All in all this is a good golf course. I'm young and play when I can (including the 100+ degree weather in the summer). This is overall a nice golf course. The only problem I had was that the watering system came on when I was on hole 4 or 5.
