After you get through the first 2 holes, the course is a bang for your buck. The first 2 holes are an absolute dump but when you cross past the underpass to holes 3-18 you're in for a treat. The course is a fun lay out with some neat water holes that make you feel like you're at a top tear resort course.
Course is wide open
For so so golfers. Wide fairways. Easy to follow.
Tee boxes- 3/5. Many uneven tee boxes
Fairways- 4. But the yardage markers are minimal.
Bunkers- 2. Several were raked. Several were hardened mud.
Greens- 5. Many are elevated and uneven. Not difficult, but not flat.
Great location, good value for a public course! Sand traps in poor condition and they need attention to landscaping! Greens in good shape!
Excited to play excellent course
Had a great time fairways are wide open and well taken care of the ruffs was cut perfectly. I would love to play there again no problem.the greens were excellent and fast. All in all this course has it. The starter ( Bob )was great gave me hints on how to play the holes.
Given the recent flooding, the course was in good condition. The three or four holes that were affected turned out not to be an issue. I could drive over the affected areas, but even if you couldn't, it really wasn't much of a problem. The rest of the course was in really good condition. Greens and tee boxes on all holes, and most all of the fairways were just fine. The views were great. Definitely would play again. Don't get a sandwich from the restaurant.
Greens very tough to land and stick. Need better attention.
We were with friends, 3 couples, and we stopped to have a bite after our round. They ran out of wings. 2 days prior they ran out of Coors lite. At the bar I waited patiently as 2 others came behind me and got served first.
At the pro shop, Chris, was very good and suggested how we could book in future to take advantage of good rates and the meal deals attached.
Considering the flood damage this course had it has recovered well. Still some areas that need to come back to its original state. Number 9 sand traps in front of the green are ground under repair. Fairway and rough on 18 still needs work. Overall is good shape. Pace of play was good. Beverage cart was out.
Pro shop made suggestion to book directly through Tahquitz as we could get as good a deal with food included as we did through golf now.
Needs more Carts and longer between tee-times.
We played Tahquitz Creek last time in Palm Springs several years ago and quite enjoyed it. Not so much this time.
The place was HEAVING! we struggled to find a bay for the Practice Range..
We were then told that they were running half an hour behind on tee-off times.
It was obvious. There were too many golfers for the number of available carts.
Gaps between tee-times were 7 or 8 minutes, so with 2 courses and 4 per group and a 4-hour round, they need 130 carts minimum. My guess?
They are 8-10 carts short.
Starter was least friendly of any of the local courses.
Practice Bays and Course were obviously over-played and had suffered some flood damage, albeit being (partially) repaired.
Good course, challenging
It was a good golf course to play with a nice variety of holes. In good condition considering the damages caused by the February storms. Ho le #9 still in rough condition, but glad it was open for playing.
For a first time player at the course, I really enjoyed the layout of the course as well as the fairways being kept up nicely. Due to the conditions of some of the holes getting damaged by all the rain, I still say that it played fair to any kind of golfer.
