a gem
First impressions weren't good, weeds in car park pro shop and surrounding areas, bathrooms etc a bit run down. The course however was excellent. Full of character and in good enough condition although some tee boxes a bit rough. The last 8 holes are as good a stretch of holes that I have played in a very long time, with 14 & 15 first class. I am 9 and my wife 19 handicaps and we both throughly enjoyed the course. We payed $13 on a golfnow hot deal and felt a bit guilty of playing golf on such a good course for a fraction of what it is worth. Will certainty return.
Wide Open
Wide open for the better part. Greens were extremely slow. Lots of weeds ... but mostly in the rough which worked well because it seemed to be more challenging when not in the fairway. Bunkers were awful ... thin layer of sand with hard pan underneath ... discovered this the hard way as my club bounced then skulled the ball 20 yards over the green.
St. Andrews
I've played this course multiple times.. The first time I played there it wasn't in the best of shape but Sunday the course was amazing. The fairways were beautiful, 2nd cut was great and even the rough was very easily playable! The greens were the best I've ever seen them and the pin location was very tough but not tough enough where it wasn't enjoyable! If your looking for an en expensive/fun/tough course I'd suggest you check this place out!
Under new ownership!?
I believe they are under new owner/management. Totally new staff and nice too. They didn't look at me like I just walked thru the wrong door! And they even pitched their new membership program. Thats a first.
The greens were quite slow. It looked like they needed a little work .But I suppose their maintenance schedule is a little off if there was a change of ownership.
Like many other reviews, one of the things holding back this course was the staff. With that taken care of , I sincerely wish them the best and Ill definitely be coming more often

Fun course
Middle tees were a little over 6k, a few forced lay ups, the greens smooth enough, frontside a little tight with smallish greens, the backside more open and larger greens. I will go back from time to time!
Will be coming back
The guy in the pro shop was extremely helpful, he even showed me the saint Andrews app that gives you tips and distances on each hole. Green and fairways were in great shape, and the tee boxes weren't bad either. Will be looking forward to playing again and seeing the restoration of a hidden gem.
Pleasantly surprised
I was pretty impressed. Nice little course for the money
great ciurser
Finds me if home. Great course and great atmosphere!
Staff was the only thing that got in the way
Dealing with a somewhat rude staff was the only obstacle on an otherwise great round of golf. The cashier refused to allow my friend and I to take advantage of their military discount because I used the Golf Now app and she didn't want to to change it in her system. Great that you honor active duty military with a discount; even greater if/when you let them use it.
great place to play
Great day of golf -- have played here many times, always starts the same with the woman behind the counter either being out & out rude or just acting like she wished either we weren't there or maybe she wished she wasn't there. Either way, IGNORE her rudeness & enjoy golf. Everyone else that works there seem to be very polite. Women's teeboxs were in bad shape/men's were avg. Greens were in great shape. Definitely a GO-BACK!
Worst experience ever! Go somewhere else
I have played this course so many times. By that I mean 2-3 times per week. Yesterday was the worst experience I have ever had on any single golf course in my 8 years of playing golf. The woman that checks you in at the clubhouse is always so rude and unprofessional. She acts as though because you aren't a member and you pay discounted rates on golf now, you are a substandard guest that doesn't get the courtesies and privileges the others do. They had no food prepared the whole day, even though the pace of play for the nine holes we played before we just left was 3 hours and 15 minutes. Which honestly, they really never do. They have it scheduled for Wednesday through Sunday but I have been many times when it isn't served even on those days. And when they do, it's sold at a table outside with no options on what to have. The snacks they did have inside were not restocked and all they had to choose from was candy bars. We were scheduled for 18 holes but just couldn't justify a 6 and a half hour round of golf. They made everyone tee off at 10 with no apparent work being done on the front nine. It wasn't even cart path only so that can't be used to excuse the pace of play. When we asked to hit the range for 20 minutes so that we could allow the 6 foursomes already at the tee box ahead of us to tee off, she was extremely rude and unprofessional. Telling us "Um no! Does it look like it?" showing us the tee time starting chart and pointing to our name. All with a condescending confused look on her face. Like we had asked for a new taylormade sldr for free for our troubles. The starter was extremely professional an kind though and let us hit the range for 30 minutes to allow other groups to play through and try and speed it up. Every hole was a 10-15 minute wait just to tee off. When we got done with nine and asked for a rain check for the second half, at first she did not want to give it to us. After telling her how long it took us to play through, she actually told us it was normal for two people to take 2:30 hours to three hours to play 9 holes on a busy day. On what planet? On what planet does it ever take two people mor than 6 hours to play a round of golf? How does that happen? Poor management is how. Choosing to work on the course in depth the day after a major holiday like Memorial Day is how, if in fact there truly was work being done, even though I never saw it. I hate it because I have enjoyed this course many times but I will never be back. I will take my money and support to oak mountain or a canongate course in the area. Or hey, maybe I'll even go by west pines which is in great shape and the staff is extremely professional and kind. AND they serve food in a kitchen! For the same price as St. Andrews. Save your money and go play another course. There are plenty around here.
Good course
The course is in good shape for this time of year. The greens are in good shape and should be great soon.
nice course
Great course to go and just be able to relax and get away from the everyday grind
Good and reasonable priced place to play
Fairways are average but greens in very good condition. Price on weekends for seniors is
superior. course difficulty is average. Good course to play. Recommend!
Disappointed
I was looking forward to suing this course however I was disappointed in the condition. Had I not gotten a discounted rate from GolfNow I would have been even more disappointed. Thin grass, no water coolers on course. It was cart path only due to the weather and this may have played a part in my disappointment. I can get better value on courses closer to my home.
average course
If the price is under $30 with cart it is good, anything more is nit worth it.
This course has great features
Weather was terrible, only 9 holes open. Staff (only 1 woman in pro shop) very unfriendly!!! Like they were unhappy we were there and they had to be there. Granted there weren't many playing that day, but we had paid in advance and was disappointed we only got to play 9 holes. Would go back on a better day and play this course again, hopefully 18 holes next time.
Decent course for the price
This course is a decent bargain if you are willing to make the drive would like to see the fairways once they become green. Greens were not perfect but played good on some better than others. You can't bring coolers onto the course so eat good before you play here there is no food just a few beers, basic candy and peanut butter crackers in the clubhouse.
Completely agree about the poor attitude of the woman cashier. She's consistently the worst part of the experience. She needs to be put out to pasture.
