Burnt Pine at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort
About
Burnt Pine Golf Club is the most revered of Sandestin Resort's four golf course offerings. Rees Jones designed the course and it is a perfect example of why he is such a respected course architect. The front nine wanders through the Emerald Coast's lush pine forests and wetlands while the back nine runs alongside the Choctawhatchee Bay, offering unique and stunning views on each. Rolling fairways and strategically placed bunkers characterize the challenging layout. Water is also a prominent feature, coming into play on 14 holes. The greens are medium in size but they are fast and undulating. Doing well on this golf course requires thoughtful strategy with each hole calling for a different approach. Burnt Pine consistently ranks as one of the best golf courses in Florida.

It feels like a special round
From the moment you drive up to the private-access Burnt Pine Golf Club you know you are in for something special. The quality of the service and the pre-round amenities signal the round should be a fun one and the course doesn’t disappoint.
The could is an enjoyable layout with ample room the hit driver on most holes. The tees and fairways were in great shape but the greens are where the attention to detail really shined. The course had hosted an event the day prior and the greens were double cut and rolled and the were so pure. The course winds through a residential development and ultimately our to the bay with spectacular views in the middle of the back 9.
I really enjoyed this round and if you’re ever in the Sandestin area, don’t pass this up (just know that access to Burnt Pine is reserved for members and guests of the resort). The resort and its amenities are awesome, so it’s a no-brainer.
Burnt Pine
Been wanting to play this course for years and it did not disappoint. Only complaint I have being a first timer is that there were no yardage books available, GPS on the cart, or prisms in the flags making it difficult to club and score. 13-15 is a great stretch of holes that are some of the best the area has to offer. Staff was great from the pro shop to the snack bar.
Best in the Area
This course is a gem. I just wish it was accessible without having to stay on property or knowing someone that knows someone that can get you on.
It is a brilliantly laid out course that offers incredible views of the bay and stunning homes throughout the area.
If you are in the area this course is a must. The fairways and greens are always in great shape. The food and amenities are in line with some of the best courses in the US and the practice facilities are top notch. Go play this course you will not be disappointed.

Another great Sandestin course
This was May third time at the Sandestin Resort and I’ve still not had a bad experience. Played here again but first time at the Burnt Pines course and holy cow what a course. For the winter the course was in fantastic shape. The holes with water where very scenic as well as mostly all the par 3’s.
With a spacious clubhouse there is plenty of room to host all kinds of events and the staff was very nice. With the amazing staff this four star course had to be turned into a five. The facilities and the range where in great shape. The resort itsel& is very nice with some great people.
Nice Course
Good layout. Nice setting. Greens a little soft and slow would be my only critique, but its off season. Otherwise in perfect shape. I'd like to play this in better weather, I'm sure it dials up nicely.
Sandestin's Private Gem
This is Sandestin's private course, but if you stay at the resort, you may be able to play it. Very well maintained and picturesque. The 14th hole may be the prettiest on the Panhandle, it's a par 3 over a marsh abutting the bay...just gorgeous. Find a way on, you'll enjoy it.
