Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club
Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club sits amongst the nature preserves that reside along Choctawhatchee Bay, enjoying scenic views and a beautiful landscape. Robert C. Walker, Arnold Palmer's former lead architect, designed the course. Water comes into play throughout in the form of sparkling blue lakes and meandering streams. The most memorable use of water comes is on the challenging 16th hole. This tricky par 4 has water to the left as well as a marsh area crossing the fairway. Being so close to the water, the golf course is often subject to strong prevailing winds. Despite its many challenges, Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is a fair challenge that players of all skill levels can enjoy, which is perhaps why it has been called one of North America's top courses by Golf Digest.

They’ve lost their greens and, as such, it took the enjoyment out of what would otherwise have been a very nice course. They should let you know before you pay.
The course will be replacing all their greens starting
April 15th of this year. The current greens are horrible and the new greens will not be playable to sometimes this Fall. Even at almost half price there’s no way it’s worth $70.
Greens are bad.
I have played this wonderful layout before when it was pristine- definitely a 5 star then. Other than the greens the course was in pretty good shape for this time of year. Staff was great.
Great golf outing
Only problem with course was the greens. Patches , burned areas ,missing grass and rough , otherwise great
This course is a Jewel. Definitely worth every single penny, I’ll be back next time I’m in Town. First 5 greens are under repairs but the rest are in good shape for the most part.
Greens are bad and they are scheduled to be replaced. Otherwise it was great.
**DO NOT PLAY**
I’ve lived in the area for 2+ years. I’ve never seen a golf course lack transparency about conditions on the course like this before. The greens are unplayable and they continue to charge an upward of $60 at a “discounted rate”. They should be charging less than $30 at best or not allowing play at all to fix their course. Do not waste your money playing here. Play the links at sandestin, Indian bayou, seascape, Kelly plantation (in no specific order). ANYTHING ELSE. The staff even tried to make up for it by saying, “we usually are the best course in Destin”. They’re not.
The Greens were un-puttable. All grass on the greens has died. They will be redoing the grass this spring, failed to mention any of this until I paid full price. Wait until this is done to avoid a pointless round of golf
Temporary greens are coming
The greens are slowly dying so this summer they are installing temporary greens so new ones can be installed. I believe they should post a warning on there website that the greens aren’t in good shape and the rate should reflect the conditions
In comparison to other courses in the area the greens are in terribly shape. Many had large areas of bare dirt. Otherwise the coarse is fine.
We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the course is getting ready to move over to temporary greens in order to complete maintenance of the greens. We hope that you will give us another chance in the future. Thanks for visiting our course.
Greens are being replaced this summer and in TERRIBLE shape
We booked a tee time online and there was no mention of any course condition issues. Realized after a few holes that all of their greens were pretty much in terrible shape. I asked at the turn what happened to the greens and was told they're over 20 years old and they're planning to replace them this summer and they didn't "come back"...not sure what they had to come back from but they're unplayable. Don't bother playing here until they're finished with replacing the greens. I was told they will be closing in April and reopening by the end of summer. I played here last year and the course was in excellent shape. Still a great layout and the rest of the course was in pretty good shape .
All in all, my main complaint was they aren't advertising this issue. Yes, they're charging cheaper rates but I paid over $70 on a "deal" time expecting this course to be really nice based on past experience. It was the last course we played out of 7 on a golf trip and it was a real bummer to find out the greens were that bad.
Great layout. Greens horrible. For the money go somewhere else that you can putt.

Pretty course but not in great shape
I have looked forward to playing the course but was disappointed with the pace of play on virtually every hole. The greens have sustained damage on virtually every hole, yet ironically the sign said the greens speed was 10.5. Our group adopted the 2 stroke rule.
The course is very pretty and a good golf test, but not when you have to wait on every hole followed up by poor green conditions.
We're sorry that we did not meet your expectations and apologize for your experience. The course is getting ready to move over to temporary greens in order to complete maintenance of the greens. We hope that you will give us another chance in the future. Thanks for visiting Regatta Bay.
Nice Play, staff could be friendlier, greens in bad shape
We played on a cool, wet, very windy day. So got very little roll. Course would play easier when dry. Fairways in good shape, but most greens had bare spots. it affected many putts. Our playing partner said there were plans to redo the greens. The layout has many nice holes.
Hello, thank you for the excellent 4-star review! #RegattaBay
Hello, thank you for the splendid 4-star review! We hope to see you at #RegattaBay again soon!
This was my first time at the property. You enter the property via a closed gate and the security officer was friendly and helpful. Upon approaching the clubhouse I was impressed with the cleanliness of the practice area and parking lot. My greeting in the pro shop was professional and friendly. I booked my tee time via Golfnow, which I know can be looked down on at some golf clubs but not here, I was treated like a club member. The range is large and complimentary balls are in abundance. A large chipping and putting green are adjacent to the range where Bill the starter was extremely helpful and friendly as well as getting us started on time. I was paired up with another single and a pair to make our foursome. The pace of play was 1:50 for the first nine and about 2 hours for the back nine. I understand that the grass is dormant this time of year so it was not as lush and green as I'm used to so the beauty aspect was not visually appealing. Once on the green I was surprised at how well and true the ball rolled as they did not look as good as you would expect. The fairways were in very good shape for the winter and the rough was short. They have numerous tee boxes for your level of play. There is enough water and bunkers to make it fun. The carts appear to be fairly new with modern and accurate GPS. Overall my experience was a very good one and will definitely be back. I can only imagine how beautiful this course is in the summer. I have played other courses in Destin, not to be critical of the others but this is a very superior course.
Hello, thank you for the spectacular 5-star rating! We hope to see you at #RegattaBay again soon!
Excellent course. Challenging and fair for all levels. The staff was very friendly and informative. The cart staff drove the cart right up to my car and loaded my bag and came with me to the parking lot after the round to drop my bag off. The range was first class with brand new balls and in great condition. The course was in excellent shape. The greens were under some new seeding in some areas but were still quick and true. Overall a great course.
Hello, we're glad you enjoyed our excellent course and friendly staff. Thank you for playing Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club! #RegattaBay
