Scenic Hills Country Club
About
Unlike many other courses in the state, Scenic Hills Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of rolling hills. In addition to the dramatic elevation changes throughout the course, the holes are sharply framed by towering pines that line the fairways. The holes play to generous putting surfaces that provide a variety of hole placements, but its best to play to the middle of the greens since there are strategically placed bunkers guarding all of the greens. Water hazards also come into play on six holes, but they require only minimal forced carries. Scenic Hills C.C. opens with what is arguably its most challenging holes. The par-4 hole plays downhill to a green that is not only protected on both the left and right with bunkers, but there is also a steep-faced bunker that is not visible from the fairway.

This course need allot of work to be completed, I will not go back until all the construction work is done
Under Construction
The marshall didn't tell us about any of the construction nor what to do within the construction zones. We were lucky to be playing with someone that had been out recently. Number 7 is playing as a long par 3 with a cup randomly in the fairway, due to work/resodding a different part of the fairway and green. Number 11? is being turned from a par 5 to a par 4 and par 3. There's a drop zone to keep you from hitting from the new green area, but not a whole lot noted.
Greens and fairways were in great shape and rolled well. Overall, a great day of golf and pace was quick.
Rough shape
Course playing pretty rough. Typical brown out and we are not yet into the heat of summer.
Under construction!
We were apparently the only ones on the course at the time...an 11;30 teatime. They are doing major renovations, including a closed fairway and another hole with heavy equipment and workmen
actively working on the fairway! The course should have been closed! What was worse is that no one, including the pro shop staff, the starter, etc even MENTIONED that this was going on before we started our round! A simple warning and apology for the conditions would have gone a long way, and would have been the upfront thing to do. Poor form Scenic Hills!
What happened
While the staff was very friendly, they failed to let me know that the course is under heavy reconstruction. In addition to that, the course is in the worst condition than I have seen in 10 years. The tee boxes have no grass, the greens are in incredibly poor condition. Fairways aren’t in much better shape. What a shame.
Overall a good course but the clubhouse and cart paths could use more signage . Nice fairways and once they finish the improvements that are being worked on now it will be great!
Not bad
Not a bad track at all, but there are a few holes under pretty significant construction. Temp. green that turns a par 4 into a par 3 (kinda a waste of a hole) Clubhouse and bar were awesome. Sign on #7 green that reads “golfers are responsible for any damage caused by errant shots.” That was a first also. Outside from construction and a few other things it was a decent course.
To much construction
To much work be done to the holes not very enjoyable
Worst Condition Ever!
This was the fourth time I have played this course. They are doing so much Construction and aerating and standing The Greens at the same time, it just made for a very miserable experience. Many of the Tee boxes were completely tore up and every Green had so much sand on it, that I had to spend more time cleaning my clubs off then I did actually playing with them. I understand there was relief from all the construction areas, but there were just so many of them it was just too much! I'll revisit this course in a year and rate it again.
Rough shape at Scenic Hills
Course is in real rough shape. Everything, tee boxes, fairways, greens and even the cart paths. If it wasn’t for the golf now deal I wouldn’t pay their going rate to play there.
Course is under a lot of construction throughout, Greens are painted and not maintained or cut correctly. I’m sure it will be in much better condition later in the year.
